Gordon wasn't a reader, exactly. Oh, he enjoyed it well enough but reading was never really one of his go-to forms of entertainment. That didn't keep him from poking around in the book store on occasion, though, if for no other reason than a lot of it was pop culture he was extremely familiar with. He'd never really expected his fascination with 20th and 21st century pop culture to actually come in as handy as it had, but he was grateful for it.
Especially since there were people in town who were fictional to him. He was smart enough to just let that fact sort of roll on by, yes, but that didn't change the fact that he found it both amazing strange. Though "amazing and strange" was kind of the default for Madison Valley.
His favorite part of the bookstore was easily the clearance section -- there were a whole lot of random books there and he was nothing if not random himself. Not to mention, if he picked up something he wound up not liking, it wasn't the worst thing. And since that was the section he could be most likely found in, it was just about always where he went to first, today being no different.
And he was distracted enough by the shelves and their contents that he didn't notice someone until he was actually getting in their way. "Sorry," he apologized with a sheepish smile. "I'm good at getting distracted like that."
