Who: Alyssa & Brooke What: dancing and drinking When: Saturday evening Where: Pandemonium Rating: Just say slightly medium-ish because of these two and their mouths lol.
Alyssa texted Brooke about a girl’s night. The pair hadn’t hung out recently and the Netherling wanted to change the whole not seeing her friend. After kissing Damien (and choosing a cute, but more modest dress than if she went with her boyfriend), the blonde finished applying her makeup, and headed out for the evening. Thankfully Magnus allowed her to drink since her ID still said she was only nineteen. Everyone who knew her, though, knew she was decades older.
She liked this time of year and, thankfully, she’d been spending time learning the new plant languages, so the queen could converse with them as she flew. Yes, she shared the sky with space things, but Alyssa kept her senses on alert.
Once she landed, Alyssa straightened her dress and walked inside after shooting Brooke a text that she’d arrived. Only at Magnus’s establishment would she drink something besides bourbon and so she ordered one of the specialty cocktails that included tequila. The Netherling tended to avoid rum and vodka, not enjoying the taste of either.
Brooke had been keeping busy between the club and the clothing shop, she was all on board for a girl’s night with Alyssa. Felt like a while since the two hung out, and that had to change and was going to change this evening. Even though she was for the most part seeing Ben, there was no real labels mostly because Brooke avoided that to keep herself from going about things the way she always did. Once labels were present, she tended to turn self-destructive and find ways to bail or pick fights to cause problems. Though she was trying to do things differently, especially since she had become a better person around here. Oh, she was still very much not to be messed with, but she never went into bitch mode or was cruel for the fun of it like before. Also, she cared and worried about other people rather than always being self-centered. Regardless of whether she was seeing someone or not, Brooke was always going to come out looking hot. It was just who she was and the same with her flirting; however, she was determined to behave and not ruin what was good in her life right now. No bringing anyone home, giving her real number, or anything like that! Dressed in a green dress that was strapless and not as short as normal, she also had matching heels that went along with it. With all the people she knew at Pandemonium, Brooke was able to go in, drink, and have fun without a care about her being under 21 until March. As long as the dome didn’t fuck with her again! Reading the text from Alyssa as she neared, Brooke smiled at the dude in the front before slipping in without any problems. Oh how she loved knowing the right people! Spotting Alyssa at the bar, Brooke made her way over and ignoring the side comment made as she went by some guy. “Hey gorgeous, how are you?” She asked, wrapping an arm around her friend once she approached. The Netherling knew she was hot and might get hit on, no matter her clothing, but her vampire did have a possessive and jealous streak. Alyssa’s life ran much more smoothly if Damien didn’t feel threatened. Besides, given that Damien more than fulfilled Alyssa, romantically and sexually, the Red Queen didn’t feel like dealing with dudes hitting on her. And so her little black dress wasn’t quite as little, although nobody could call it modest.
Some guy stopped by and tried to hit on Alyssa. He obviously didn’t expect her to smile, tilt her head, and ask if he wanted to see photos of her grandkids. That confused him and he walked away.
“Oh my God. Look at you in that dress!” Alyssa returned the hug and passed Brooke a drink. “I already ordered for us.”
Brooke had noticed the guy walking away as she approached her friend, laughing at the look on his face. “What did you say to him? Cause he had this confused look like he was trying to do math in his head, and it was quite hilarious,” she admitted, glancing over her shoulder for only a moment in the direction that the dude had been heading in, but she couldn’t see him anymore. Without even batting an eyelash, Brooke had already lost interest in the boy who probably thought he had a chance with Alyssa only to have failed. “Duh, do you really expect me to not look fabulous? I mean that would be close to impossible,” she said with a smile, kissing her friend on the cheek. Brooke knew she was hot and knew how she looked. There was no way she was ever going to pretend otherwise since it was not her style. Only a few times in her life had she ever needed ego stroking and that was because of the state she was in, but other than that it was never ever needed. “And no surprise how hot you look.” Taking the drink, she moved to sit down next to Alyssa before taking a sip. The two hung out enough that they knew one another drinks so Brooke didn’t have any concern at all about whether the drink was right or not. “How are things going with the new place?” Alyssa couldn’t help the laughter when Brooke asked her question. “When he hit on me, I asked if he wanted to see photos of my grandkids. I’m sure the math hurt his brain a lot, but better than Damien ripping out his tongue.” The causality with which Alyssa spoke didn’t go unnoticed by herself, but obviously she didn’t think too hard on what that meant.
Nobody had a chance with Alyssa, not since the arrival of Damien. “Of course I expect you to look fabulous. We both always look hot.” She returned the cheek kiss and then pushed some strands of her hair behind her ears. “I love our new place,” Alyssa said, not bothering to contain her excitement. “Damien picked out a beautiful house and Ned, Peter, and I are currently building a treehouse. But I love how much space we have and that I get to live with the person I love most. How are things with you?”
Brooke had yet to meet Damien, but she did know his brother, and from what she knew on Damien, it was a wise choice. “A little headache from trying to do the math is better than the loss of a tongue. Poor guy you can tell he’s really having a tough time trying to figure out that math. Hopefully, he’s better in bed cause he may not be the brightest,” Brooke said with a chuckle. Hey, Alyssa knew Brooke said what she was thinking, and one of the reasons they got along. Anyone who knew Brooke and knew her well knew she was never one to hold back the truth unless they were a friend and they said lie, then she would go against what she was normally like.
She was happy for her friend and the thing she had with Damien, hoping that they would both be very happy together and that the dome would not pull its usual shit. “I think I’d die of shock if we ever came out not looking hot. Or wonder who the hell was in the body considering that look alike that has been in my body before,” Brooke made a face at the thought. Not because someone else was in her body because who wouldn’t want to be? It was more because of the fashion sense and what always ended up happening to her closet during that time. A laugh, smiling as she welcomed the excitement. “Are you three really? When it’s done, I better get an invite to come see it!” She said, but if she didn’t it wouldn’t be the end of the world. “It’s always nice to have a lot of space and that’s super cute,” she wrinkled her nose, squealing in excitement cause she was happy for her friend. “Things are going well,” she said honestly. “Keeping busy with the fashion and the club planning plus things are good with Ben. I haven’t scared the poor guy off or crashed a giant train through whatever it is we have, so I take it as a win.” Brooke knew herself, and that was a huge win in her book. Her habit of self-destruction when things were good was a problem, and she knew it, but she couldn’t help herself. Wasn’t like her parents were a great example. The last thing she wanted to do was hurt Ben cause he was amazing, but old habits and voices were starting to rise. However, Brooke was trying to be better since she wanted this and he was the first person here who even had her thinking about a relationship. Her night out with Alyssa was needed, especially since her friend was not single so it made it easier to avoid the temptation, or at least she was hoping.
— Alyssa burst into giggles. Bran and Damien both suffered from an overabundance or both jealousy and possessiveness. She loved Damien, but considering what she’d needed to do to ensure Kenny didn’t lose his tongue after reminding Damien of her sleeping with Kenny? Well, Alyssa didn’t care about that guy and what happened to him. “I think he should take the broken brain over the literal broken brain. But, I wouldn’t hold out hope on his sex skills.”
She couldn’t imagine her life here without Damien, but Alyssa knew what this place could do and didn’t want to think about it. The Netherling took a sip of her cocktail. “If we come out of this not looking hot then we need to speak to the manager. Of course you’re invited when we finish.” They were taking their time especially considering the three of them did not possess carpentry skills.
“I promise to be there to help stop any self-sabotage trains. As per usual you and Lizzie are the absolute best with your clothing line.” They’d really become a staple in Alyssa’s wardrobe.
“Tell me more about Ben. I don’t know him very well.” She wanted to know about this guy who captured Brooke’s attention.
Brooke giggled then calmed herself enough to take a sip of her drink before starting to laugh again. “Hey, I was doing my charity work for the month of October by trying to say something nice about the poor guy. Don’t go trying to diminish my charity work, missy!” She said, lightly pushing her friend before laughing. “Some poor girl in here might think they are amazing and I already feel super bad for her, but the boy is probably busy still trying to figure out the how of what you said.” Brooke made a face for a minute before nodding since she knew if this was back home, she definitely would be trying to figure it out. Or at least, she would until something made her forget about the confusing math in her head. Being that her world did not have magic only psycho killers, hearing something like Alyssa’s comment would confuse her.
Another round of giggles came from Brooke at the comment about speaking to the manager. “We’ll go full on Karen if we ever come out not looking hot. Or if it’s that cat loving weirdo in my body, lock my closet up so she can not do any damage like she tends to do when in my body.” Brooke had no problem with cats, but the girl that went into her body wore items with them, and that was a bit too far in Brooke’s mind. Lonely cat lady was definitely the vibe she got from what she knew. A thought she never wanted to think around someone who looked like her. “Good! I can’t wait to see what you guys end up designing once it’s all done,” she said with a smile before taking a sip of her drink again. Brooke smiled widely both at knowing her friend meant it on trying to stop those trains but it got wider at the compliment on the clothing that Lizzie and her did. “We’re glad you love it, and we’re always happy to give you new things to wear. Great way to spread the word by helping our friends out! Didn’t even have to go to New York like I had planned back home to achieve it. As for the other comment, I appreciate it more than you realize.” Brooke really did because she was trying very hard to not follow her normal patterns. Easier said than done. A shy little smile popped up as she thought about the guy. “Well, I’m great at going for complicated people around here since he’s a ghost and dead, so yeah, I have a type,” she said with a small laugh. Her list of people she had slept with consisted of very few humans like her, and honestly, she was fine with it. They could keep up with her a lot better a big plus in her mind. “He’s a sweetheart and a good guy something I could definitely use in my life. Pretty much I know the damage I could do if I went about things my normal route.” Very few people ever got this full on honest side of Brooke, and those people were the ones she trusted most to not use this information against her. “But the fact that we have no labels makes it a bit easier for me to not go about getting behind that wheel of doom.” Alyssa couldn’t stop giggling and the charity remark caused a fresh wave of giggles. “I apologize for accidentally diminishing your charity efforts this Hallowe’en season.” She noticed him talking to another girl and shook her head, catching her breath after giggling so much. “He already found his next victim, and hopefully she breaks his brain less.” In this place, it wasn’t the strangest thing, but she knew how confusing it could sound. Unlike Kol or Bex, Alyssa hadn’t always looked like a young adult and aged properly. Now, though? She’d always look like an elder teen, no matter how long she lived.
She laughed again and accidentally inhaled her drink, causing the giggles to turn into half laughing and half choking for a minute. “We will bring it up with all of the managers.” Alyssa paused. “I forgot about the cat wearing person who took over your body. Your poor closet.” The Netherling felt sympathy. “I can’t wait too.”
“You two know I’m happy to advertise your clothing whenever and wherever.” Thankfully, Alyssa knew she possessed a fantastic body which helped model clothing. She really liked that her friends could realize their goals in this place. As someone who could self-sabotage, Alyssa understood. “Anytime.”
“I went for a possessive vampire who dislikes some of my chosen family, so I don’t know if I’d say I have a healthy type,” Alyssa joked, although she couldn’t imagine anyone besides Damien as her partner in this place. She obviously noticed Brooke’s shy smile and it pleased her to see her friend happy. A nod of understanding. “You deserve a nice guy. And I’m glad he’s bringing out this side of you.” The Red Queen would never use her friend’s vulnerability against her. Ever.
Brooke started to giggle again at the apology before faking a serious look, glaring at her friend. “As you should. I mean wow just ruining my efforts to be charitable,” she said with a sigh that quickly turned into another round of giggles. On hearing the dude found his next victim, she turned her head to see, frowning at the poor girl. “The look on her face says he’s either getting a fake number or no number,” Brooke said, looking at the girl before turning away just as the guy glanced in their direction. Busying herself with her drink. “If he’s coming over here, thinking he’ll try for round two, I cannot be held accountable for what I may say,” she said to Alyssa before taking a sip of her drink. Brooke was used to the age thing from all the people in her life. Yes, the dome had messed with her age a bit, but she was human and lived a normal human life; however, she had more than a few friends with a much longer life span. So, this was normal these days for her as long as she was in this town.
“You okay there?” She asked seriously when Alyssa was half choking for a moment. Once she knew her friend was fine, she switched from serious to dramatic for the giggles. “Don’t go dying on me! My heart can’t take that loss!” She cried out in a very dramatic tone, giggling again. This is what she needed a ridiculous night without a single care in the world. “I will never ever be able to forget the cat wearing person. I know! Like girl, you have my body and looks, so don’t be all shy. Or seeing my closet as needing to bury the clothes for no one to find.” Brooke couldn’t even imagine being shy or nervous around the opposite sex. It was something she never had to deal with, and it showed with the attention she got from all. “I’m sure it will look amazing!”
Brooke smiled, nodding without saying anything. Cause she did know that and also that Lizzie knew that, which both appreciated it or at least, Brooke definitely did and she was sure it was safe to speak on behalf of Lizzie on that type of matter. But they were lucky to have a few friends who were always happy to advertise their clothing, allowing them the opportunity to gain more of a following. Too bad she would not remember any of this when she eventually went back and ended up in New York. “Hun, you do not need to worry about any judgment from me at all,” Brooke told her, laughing, resting her head on her friend’s shoulder for only a moment as she hugged her from the side. “This will say a lot about me, but my choice in relationships have always been questionable. This may be the closest I have ever had in terms of a healthy relationship,” she admitted before taking a sip of her drink at realizing how that was very true. Though no matter what Seth had been the biggest mistake of her life considering what had happened with that insanity. Only good part was she learned from that mistake and had never hooked up with another teacher. “He may be dead, but I might be the unhealthy one in this relationship,” Brooke had no problem admitting her faults in that way. “I just hope I don’t end up eating him alive. At least, I won’t have to worry about him being killed.” Brooke could not take losing another person in her life to them being killed. Kenny did not count considering how he always came back, but her heart could not take losing any people in her life to death. “Which speaking of your boyfriend, how is he doing with your chosen family?” When Brooke mentioned the girl, Alyssa considered walking over to save her. But when the guy looked back over at the pair, with the possible intention of walking back over to try again, he backed off when Alyssa called out, “Nope. Walk away.” She didn’t want to deal with him and doubted Brooke did either.
She laughed hard at Brooke’s dramatics. “I could never leave you!” Alyssa exclaimed with the back of her hand to her forehead. “But for real, I don’t think it would actually kill me. I’m not sure anything can kill me?” After assuming the throne she’d live forever and no longer knew quite what her limits of immortality happened to be. “I’m glad I didn’t run into her, but I heard stories.” From Brooke and Kenny.
In some ways, Alyssa thanked her lucky stars she wouldn’t remember her time here when she returned home, given her love of Damien and a husband who waited for her. But when Alyssa returned home her heart hurt that she’d forget Brooke, Kol, Ned, Damien and everyone else she loved.
To Alyssa, her relationship with Damien was healthy. Yes, he might prefer control, but he and Alyssa fit together well and loved and respected each other. “I’m glad that Ben is a healthy choice for you. “At least if you eat him alive he’ll love the ride,” she teased, but turned serious. “If you’re ever worried you can talk to me, but if you’re aware of it possibly happening, it makes it more likely it won’t.” Sometimes Alyssa sounded like a wise sage.
“Damien likes Peter and Ned. I think he and Bex and he and Kol formed a truce of sorts because of me. They haven’t tried to murder each other which is all that matters. I’m a little worried about Mikaelson Christmas though,” she admitted.
Brooke started laughing without even having to look at who Alyssa was talking to considering Brooke had figured with him catching her that he was probably thinking about it. For once, it was not her telling a guy to take a hike, but if he actually came over here, then Brooke would without a second thought. “I second that,” Brooke finally said, loud enough without looking over as she took a sip. Okay, so she didn’t fully make it without having to add her own two cents, but at least it wasn’t as bad as what usually came from Brooke’s mouth.
Brooke’s sides were hurting from laughing over the two and their dramatics, ignoring the looks cause she really didn’t give a damn. “Pretty sure that has some positive points and negative points. I can say I’m a lot harder to kill than people seem to think, which includes myself. But sure, as hell have had many close calls,” both here and back home, but the scars on her were all from back home. “But good, it’s another name on my list of people I need to worry about dying.” Since she meant what she said, Brooke didn’t think she could lose anyone else. However, that was not a topic she wanted to get into tonight when she was having fun, and she switched to the topic of her other half that was hot, but oh so very annoying. “Oh, I’m sure you have. Cause I know Kenny and Kol have both had their fun getting her all flustered for the hell of it,” she commented, shaking her head as if she was annoyed at them for that. Though she found it amusing…well until they started making comments about the outfits, then she wanted to hear no more.
Brooke faked a shocked expression at Alyssa’s comment about if Brooke ate Ben alive. “My poor innocent ears!” She claimed as if anyone who knew her would believe that for a moment. “Seriously though, I can definitely promise a fun ride along the way,” she bit her bottom lip shyly before giggling as she took a sip of her drink. “I’ll keep that in mind, but I appreciate that. I’m trying my best to not repeat my usual shit, and hoping it sticks.” Then again Ben also hadn’t done anything to piss her off, which was her other way of giving herself an excuse to self-destruct. Still, she was trying, and she knew she had enough people around here who she could call if she needed to keep herself from doing something stupid or to tell her she was doing something stupid. Alyssa being one of those people.
As she listened, she finished up her drink that was in front of her. “That’s the important part. The fact no one has murdered one another and that there is a bit of a truce says a lot. I think if it stays with the Mikaelson’s that are around, it will be manageable. And if you need an out, you can text me and I’ll fake some excuse,” she said with a laugh before turning serious. “They care about you, so I think you’ll be surprised and it won’t be that bad. I won’t say perfect 'cause I doubt that and who knows what the hell this place might pull, but I think it will be alright.” Brooke hoped she was right, but she could understand that worry. Her head turned towards the music before bouncing up. “I love this song. Finish your drink and come dance with me!” Brooke said, moving to the music as she waited for her friend.
