Kili was still not used to being in this place without his brother. When he arrived, Fili and his uncle had already been here. So being left behind when his brother was sent back to their world had been difficult to cope with. Working at London Starr Metals served as a welcome distraction, but he couldn't stay at work all of the time. Besides, he highly doubted that Thorin and Bilbo would allow him to do that. Not that he would try as it might make Bilbo sad -- and no one was allowed (in his mind) to make Bilbo sad. He just didn't like the fact that someone might make the gentle Hobbit frown. Bilbo should always be happy and smile after everything he had gone through with them. If anyone upset Bilbo, then Kili woulld introduce them to pain. He couldn't actually pull a weapon on himself so it was in his best interest to make sure he was never the reason the Hobbit was sad. He shook out his hair, feeling it thud against his neck and he reached up to loosen the ponytail that he usually kept it in at work. The last thing he needed to have happen at the forge was for his hair to catch on fire. He tried to push the unhappy thoughts out of his mind as he left work and started on the walk to Bag End. He was glad that Bilbo's beloved home had arrived in Madison and that he had been invited to live with him and Thorin. He didn't like being alone and he hadn't known what to do with himself in his and Fili's apartment. He shook his hair out again and smiled at people he passed. He did like this place for the many wonders it had and all of the different people he got to meet. |
