Enid was, in a word, lonely.
Sure, Sherlock was great and she was trying to make other friends at school, but it wasn't as easy as it should have been and she still desperately missed Wednesday and Ajax. Everything had been so perfect when she arrived here. It definitely wasn't that way now.
And now it was October, and Halloween was fast approaching, and she wasn't going to have anyone to celebrate with. Sure, she'd probably go to a party - they had to have them, didn't they? - but without anyone special or her BFF. It made her want to cry. She had cried, a lot, and she was tired of it. She needed to get herself out of her slump and back to the happy, perky person she much preferred to be.
So she was forcing herself into the Halloween aisle at Walmart, trying to force herself to make this fun again. She wasn't looking at costumes, really, because she was going to make her own, but the decorations, candy, etc. was pretty interesting. And the candy was, well, delicious, and with a werewolf's metabolism she could eat all of it that she wanted. Well, all that she could afford, anyway. Sherlock wasn't going to give her enough money to buy out the whole aisle or anything.
Still, she started throwing a few select bags into her cart. If she couldn't get rid of her loneliness any other way right now, then maybe she could eat it away.
