There were days where Murphy was a completely respectable, reasonable facsimile of an adult that was capable of doing his job properly... and then there were days where he got too bored for his own damn good. This was definitely one of those days, which meant he was quite likely making management regret they'd ever hired him.

The sign he'd put on the assistant managers' office probably wasn't helping.

The sidewalk signs outside the store probably weren't helping, either. He was proud of the reaper he'd hung over the jewelry counter, though. That one had taken some creative thinking, the electric lift to get high enough, and two other people to block customers' path long enough to do it.

Moral of the story, never let Murphy near holiday decorations. It won't end well.

At the moment, though, he was actually doing some vague part of his job and helping stock some of the Halloween candy. While trying to figure out what else he could do around the store with the decorations. But for now, he was going to try to behave.

Emphasis on "try".
