Maddie opened the fridge and grabbed a bottle of beer for him. Her own glass of wine was sitting on the counter, half full since she'd been indulging while she cooked in an effort to calm her nerves.
"You know, considering the whole outer space in future thing, I haven't had anything terribly unusual lately," she admitted. "I mean, space ship crashes are definitely different, though possibly easier than accidents on the LA freeways." There were some new things to learn in their new location, but Maddie was mostly enjoying her job. It gave her something to focus on that wasn't obsessively thinking about Chimney and their daughter. "How about you?"
