When Irina woke in the late morning, per usual, she immediately noticed the drastic change in the bedroom. Not that it was unappealing, but changes that weren’t of her doing were immediately suspect.
She reached next to her to shake Chuuya awake, roughly. “The dome has been busy. Again.”
Normally Chuuya woke up early but for some reason, he ended up sleeping in late today. And he would've kept on sleeping if his pain in the ass fiancee wasn't shaking him and trying to get him to wake up.
"What now?" he grumbled, briefly considering buying a spray bottle so he could douse her in water for being annoying. He finally opened his eyes and then realized. "Oh, I see." The room they were in wasn't the one they had fallen asleep in. It was completely different and a bit bigger. He wasn't going to complain but still.
He got out of bed, quickly putting some pants on before heading over to look outside the bedroom door. "The whole damn house has changed."
Not wearing a stitch, Irina slid from the bed to walk to the large windows. She had to step around a small table between two pristinely white puffy chairs to get to her destination.
“So it seems…” she muttered as she peered outside. Pale blue eyes picked over the new details until they landed on something. A smile curled the corner of her lips then, in a blur, she was gone from the window.
A moment later, there was a splash from outside.
Chuuya peered into the hallway, spotting several more rooms. He leaned back into the bedroom, watching as Irina walked over to the large windows and muttering a soft 'hm' in response.
He was about to go explore the rest of the house but then she suddenly disappeared out the window and he heard what sounded like a splash a few seconds later. As much as he was curious about this new house and wanting to look around, he was more curious about where Irina had gone to.. So he headed over to the window and looked out to see where she was.
Below, amidst a broad patio was an inground pool where Irina was currently swimming idly to the far side. Not needing to breathe meant she could remain underwater the entire time, only surfacing once she reached the far wall.
Irina turned to look up at Chuuya, an actual smile on her face. “Join me,” she called out.
They’d had a pool with their last house, but she seemed more pleased with this one.
He definitely wanted to explore the rest of the house, but seeing Irina swimming in the pool with nothing on was far more tempting. Maybe later, he'd go check out the rest of their new house. For now, he shrugged as he took his pants back off and in seconds, he was in the pool and swimming up to her.
"I hope this isn't temporary or I might be pissed," he said, glancing back at the house. He liked the old one just fine, but this was more his speed.
“I agree,” she said as she draped her arms over his shoulder. Irina in a good mood like this one was far more sensual and, dare it be said, nice. “I might have to choose ultimate violence if it gets taken away.” She let out a throaty chuckle before she claimed a kiss from Chuuya.
“You realize that with being given a new house we will have to put all of the rooms through their paces as we did the first one.” Forget learning what their new abode had to offer other than surface comforts.
Most of the time, Chuuya was suspicious whenever Irina was in a good mood. Not just her, but everyone else as well. In his experience, no one was happy or nice unless there was some ulterior motive. But he knew Irina well and she really was just in a good mood. Nothing more, nothing less. So with that, Chuuya himself relaxed as he returned the kiss, pulling her body against his.
"As much as I would love to see you get violent, I'm hoping the house stays," he said, tracing along her spine. "I only got a brief look, but I'm pretty sure there's more rooms than in the old house."
It was pleasant like this. Held by him as the water caressed over their skin. Irina could get used to this quite easily.
“We must have been good to be given such a gift.” Her eyes half closed languidly as her feline amusement purred out of her throat again. “One might be tempted to give up one’s nefarious ways should such gifts continue.”
Hardly. Irina had been chosen by Klaus long ago for a very good reason: Her scheming and viciousness was too ingrained for her to change her ways even before she became a vampire.
This sort of pleasantness had been a bit strange to Chuuya when they first started dating. It took him a while but he was used to it now and was able to relax and only think about the present moment.
He pressed kisses along her neck, stopping at a spot he knew was more sensitive. "Yes, if stealing jewelry then selling it is good behaviour," he said, amusement in his voice. He doubted the dome cared about such things. They certainly weren't good yet they still received this amazing new house.
"Now that would be something to see." But Irina, giving up her nefarious ways? Yeah, right. And frankly, Chuuya hoped she never will. Her mind was one of the things he loved about her. Not that he'd ever say so out loud. Her ego was big enough as it is.
A languid hum purred in her throat for the kisses. This was definitely turning into a morning to go into the record books. New house. Irina was placid, and they weren’t fighting. No one would believe it, even if they were here to witness it.
Her leg snaked around his to put herself as tightly against him as she could get. “Something nightmarish,” Irina said in a breathy tone of voice. “I doubt I could maintain it for long.”
She had no one to keep her in check now. Her sire had gone home. She ignored anything Chuuya told her to do or suggested if she didn’t want to hear it. The only person who stood a chance at making Irina hesitate was Rebekah, but only if her Auntie Bex knew what the Tzarina was up to.
"I'm kind of curious how long you would last." If he were to make a bet, he'd probably say a week tops.
But he didn't want her to behave or had an interest in keeping her in check either. If anything, he'd probably encourage or join in with her nefarious ways. The only way he probably would stop her is if she was in danger somehow. He'd even use his ability on her if he had to, which thanks to the experiment he did with Miriam, he knew how much gravity a vampire can endure until their bones broke. But he hoped he never had to use it on Irina. Thankfully, she wasn't dumb enough to put herself in harm's way.
He didn't want to think about that, though. Not right now when he was feeling relaxed and peaceful for once. "So what was it that you said earlier, about putting all the rooms through their paces?" he asked before leaning in to press his lips against hers, fingers running through her hair as he deepened the kiss.
Her answer didn’t come in the form of words. Instead, her arms went entirely around Chuuya and her hands flattened against his back enough that her nails made little dents against his skin. Without the need to breathe, their kisses could go on a long time. Such as now. Eventually, they one of them would move them to inside, or at least out of the pool. Or not.
