Legolas nodded at Thorin's words. "Anything for the young Hobbit," he said, honestly. "I became quite close to his nephew, Frodo, and I know he would not be pleased if I allowed his uncle to be in harm's way. In any way. And I have become aware that there's a certain Dwarf who would probably do far worse to me than Frodo had I allowed any harm come to Bilbo." He offered the two a small smile as he spoke. "I do not wish to overstay my welcome, though. I just wished to make sure Bilbo arrived home safely." He then looked toward Bilbo, "It was nice to get to know you, Bilbo. As I said, I only knew you after your 111st birthday, it is nice to get to know you now."
He ruffled Bilbo's hair briefly, "Take good care of him, Thorin. He cares for you quite a bit. You know, he never married after he arrived home from his adventures, and now I can see why." And with that, Legolas turned to head home.
Once the front door closed, and it was just the Hobbit and the Dwarf once more, Bilbo turned toward his Dwarf. "I am sorry I brought him home, Thorin. ...he was truly just attempting to watch out for me."
He leaned in and kissed Thorin softly. "And he was correct about my feelings for you."
