Who: Miles Morales and Willie Jack (match up)
What: Miles is ‘caught’
When: Early Evening
Where: Streets/Alleyway
Rating: low

Okay, so Miles knew that there wasn’t a lot of crime in Madison, but old habits die hard and occasionally Miles would help someone who was mugged or get a cat from a tree. He could still do things, even if those things weren’t really impressive in any sense of the imagination. But that wasn’t why you did superheroing, right? It wasn’t for the impressiveness or the recognition.

He’d just done an hour or so of recon and helped an old woman cross the street. It was time to call it a night before Shuri got too worried about where he was. So Miles ended up landing in a alleyway and started to change his clothes. It was only when he was in mid-change which his Spider-Man suit hanging by his waist and him having gotten half his head and one arm through his t-shirt that he realized someone was at the end of the alleyway, staring at him. Oops.

“Uh. Hi?” Still in mid-shirt-on mode.

Willie Jack was able to handle a lot. She had adjusted quite well to life in Madison Valley, if she said so herself. So there was a lot she could handle. Or so she thought. That was, until, she was walking by an alleyway and happened to spot a teenager undressing out of... a superhero costume? What the hell was that?

"What are you doing?" she asked. "Do you always change in an alleyway? What are you wearing? Or not wearing?" She eyed the other teenager, her head tilting slightly.

"Why are you changing out of the cool suit? It's pretty neat. I'd wear it all the time if I had one. I'm Willie Jack, by the way. Who are you?"

"Those are... a lot of questions." He said it first and then finally moved so he could pull his shirt on. Now that he wasn't half naked, he felt a little better, even if he was embarrassed. Back home this would have been a big deal and so his mind and body where currently in panic-mode. He had to tell himself that Madison was a different sort of place.

"I'm Miles. This is... my suit? When I fight crime. And sometimes I change in alleyways?" He was trying to remember all the questions when he had still been a deer-in-headlights. "Was there another question or did I get them all?" He looked to her.

"You... fight crime. In a suit." She studied Miles for a moment, trying to determine if he was a crazy person who needed immediate psychiatric attention or if he were actually a crime fighting vigilante. ...it was probably the latter, but she still wanted to make sure. One could never be too safe, even in a place like Madison Valley.

"So. Are you like a superhero?" she asked, voting for the latter. And hoping she wasn't wrong. "Like an Avenger or something? ARE YOU AN AVENGER?" That would be so cool. Even if he weren't Avenger... superheroes were pretty cool regardless of their affiliation.

"Or are you more of a Daredevil or Punisher sort of superhero?"

Miles was slightly taken aback - wasn't that how most people fought crime? Even his dad wore a uniform while being a cop. Maybe her world didn't have super heroes.

Then, of course, she said superhero and Avengers and Miles' eyes widened a little. "Uh. Well, Those two are kind of scary?" Living in New York, he'd heard of both. "I'm more like..." He searched his brain because he wasn't sure if he should say Spider-Man or not. Then he paused and just decided to say it. "I'm Spider-Man?" Yes, for some reason it did sound like a question.

"Daredevil and Punisher are scary?" She considered this for a moment. Then her eyes widened before she could make some sort of smart ass comment about those two being scary. "You're Spider-Man? Are you sure? You don't sound sure." Then she studied Miles and his outfit and...

"Fuck. You're Spider-Man."

She narrowed his eyes at him for a moment. "You're Peter Parker?" she asked. She then thought about it for a moment. "...I think there's more than Peter, right?" She knew some shit about comics. Don't judge.

He looked a little sheepish. "No, I'm not Peter Parker. But, I'm friends with one?" He wasn't sure if that was a good enough explanation, but he also still felt guilty about his Peter Parker dying. He probably always would.

"I'm Miles. Miles Morales? I'm... a different Spider-Man? Sometimes there's like, variations." This seemed more diplomatic than trying to explain the multi-spider-verse.

"Miles Morales. Cool name, dude." As though he really had any say in the matter, right? "At least, it's cooler than the alternatives." Though she couldn't think of many other alternatives. "You could have been given my given name. Now that would be a tragedy."

She hated her given name. Which explained why she went by another name.

"How long have you been Spider-man-ing around town, then, Miles Morales? I'm Willie Jack. ...I'm actually a little jealous of you right now, dude."

He gave a lopsided smile at her compliment because he wasn't sure anyone had ever said that about his name, but it was actually really flattering? "Thanks." He meant it even if a part of him wasn't sure how to address getting a compliment on his name like that. "What's your given name? I mean, if I can ask that. It's cool if you don't want to say." He felt the need to say that part.

"About a year? Unless you count here. Then... like, a handful of months. I'm pretty new here. - Hey Willie Jack, nice to meet you."

"Wilhelmina Jacqueline Sampson," she said. It wasn't something she told very many people. Garin was quite possibly the only other person she'd told, and that was because he was her guardian and needed to know her full name for school registration and the like.

"You've been Spider-man about a year?" She considered this, then nodded. "Radioactive spider?" She then offered Miles a small smile. "Nice to meet you, too, Miles. If you call me anything but Willie Jack I might have to hurt you."

Well now he understood 'Willie Jack'. He also managed to stop himself from saying 'wow, that's a long name' and sort of just nodded his head in awkward acknowledgement because he didn't want to say the wrong thing, but also had no idea what the right thing to say was.

Thankfully she changed the subject.

"Uh, yeah, actually. From a different dimension, even. So, that's kind of cool right?" Maybe. He thought so.

He held up his hand as if making a solemn vow. "I promise to call you Willie Jack." A slight pause. "Besides, that's like, your name right? I mean, people should be called what they want to be called." He gave a one-shoulder shrug

"An alternate Spider-man from an alternate dimension? That's really cool." She already liked this Miles Morales Spider-man dude. He was cool. And he was more than willing to forget she had told him her full name and to call her Willie Jack.

"Yes. Willie Jack is my name. You can call me shit ass if we're friendly enough, but Willie Jack will do for now."

Garin was currently the only one in town who got away with calling her shit ass.

Miles couldn't help but smile because that was probably the first time anyone really said something like that to him. Most of the time he was just compared to Peter and he got that, but this was kind of nice.

"Uh -"He'd never been told to call someone 'shit ass' before and he wasn't sure he could without thinking his mom was going to show up and give him an earful. So he went with - "I'll keep that in mind."

Speaking of guardians. "I should probably get going though. My guardian is kind of a stickler for dinner time if I don't give her a heads up ahead of time."

(ooc: Wrap on yours?)

"A stickler for dinner time? ...I'm a stickler for dinner time, too, honestly. Because food is delicious." Maybe she would go to The Musain and get Garin to give her some free French food. He was good about doing that.

"Maybe we can be a stickler for dinner together sometime," she suggested. "We can go get Garin to give us dinner." ...which was usually how she got dinner. "Or I can use my Hinkles discount."

She nodded seriously at this.

"I'll talk to you later, dude," she said, grinning, before heading off away from the strange spiderdude.
