Chloe had been exploring this new Madison when she came upon the cemetery. It was bigger than it had been, but she guessed that made sense after finding out how far into the future the Dome had taken them. She had spent a great deal of time back in their own time at the cemetery practicing with her powers and expelling energy so that she didn't get too overwhelmed by it at any time. She had learned from experience that not doing that could be dangerous for her. She had been drawn here because it had long been her practice area and she had to shake off the idea that the graves now held people she had known or seen back in the past. It was a bit heavy to think about. When she wasn't paying attention, two ghosts appeared and they looked like they were having an argument. When she stepped forward, she saw the zombie walking around the headstones and realized that she was going to get more of a workout than she had intended. The new Madison Valley was... interesting. Well, it still had the same feel to it but the people were different. There were those that looked vastly different than himself and his siblings, or anyone else. He didn't mind that though. It does not, however, stop him from heading out toward where the cemetery is. Or having him find a tree to climb up to and lean back against. Sure, he couldn't do inquiry like his husband could but that didn't mean he wasn't connected to the dead. The ghosts were something that he could feel there. However, his eyes were on the young woman that was in the cemetery too. Wei Wuxian looks over toward the headstone and took note of the zombie. Jiangshi. So Madison had them too. Not that he didn't know that but he'd never seen them around. Even with Chloe there he doesn't hesitate to grab Chenqing from his waistband putting the dizi to his lips and starting to play. Any of the zombies that were there would move toward him or wherever he wanted them to. Normally? He wouldn't do something like this but he wasn't going to let zombies around anyone else in the city. Chloe had been ready to lay the zombie to rest so she could talk to the ghosts when she heard the music start playing. She wanted to keep the zombie from going towards the music so that it wouldn’t hurt anyone, but the ghosts were closer to her and their argument was increasing in both volume and seriousness. Biting her lip, she turned her head to where the music was coming from and let out a piercing whistle. “If you don’t stop your music you’re going to wind up with some company if I can’t get him and the ghosts to settle down for long enough for me to figure out what has them all upset.” She couldn’t see who was playing the music, but since this was Madison -- even in the future -- she figured that they weren’t going to be too surprised by the mention of ghosts and zombies. Having given the music player a heads-up, she turned to focus back on the three and raised her hand to distract the zombie. To him? It didn't matter what Chloe had been about to do. Though he does pay attention to her and the feeling of the ghosts that were around. If she was going to deal with said ghosts, however, then she needed to deal with them. As for the music harming anyone... that depended on how much resentful energy he used and who he used it on. He does not, as it were, listen to her though. Instead, he jumps down from his spot in the tree and continues to play his dizi as he walks back away from the girl. If she was trying to give him a 'heads-up' as it were then it wouldn't work as the dead did his bidding whenever and however he wanted. He believes, as it were, that this world called them necromancers. Unfortunately, for her, the longer he played the music the more the zombie ignored her and followed his lead away from her and the ghosts. Chloe sighed. She didn’t know who was playing the music and she didn’t want him to get hurt. However, the zombie looked like he was going to follow the music and the only way that he would stop was if Chloe used her magic to try to fight the pull. She didn’t want to do that. The zombie didn’t look enraged and she wasn’t detecting anything evil from the music -- though she really wanted to know who was playing the music to distract the zombie. She hoped whoever it was would be kind when finding out what was wrong with the zombie and laying it to rest. She hated when they were treated badly. She looked back at the ghosts who had come closer and raised her hands, magic surrounding her and them as she concentrated and tried to calm them down. It didn’t take them long to get them to focus on her and she lowered her hands, listening to them speak their woes to her. If there was one thing that Wei Wuxian wasn't concerned about it was getting hurt. The zombies around them wouldn't touch him. They would do anything that he wanted due to being able to control them but they wouldn't harm them. There was only one way for that to happen and Wen Chao along with his father were dead. No one could take control away from him once he had that control. So, even if she tried to use her magic on the zombie it wouldn't pull it away from the music. Luckily, for Chloe? He wasn't someone who would treat someone badly. The music, however, wasn't evil but it would sound haunting. Not that he cared what his music sounded like to anyone. If someone wanted to react to it then that was fine. He also knows that if his husband were around it wouldn't have been Chloe laying the souls to rest either. That zombie, however, is pulled ever closer to him and he eventually gets the being laid to rest. That does not, however, stop him from playing his dizi. Except that it would go from that haunting melody to a tune that his husband mainly knew. From haunting to playing WangXian but eventually, he stops playing and heads back toward where Chloe is. After Chloe finally let her attention turn from the zombie to the ghosts, one of them had gotten a little too angry and tried to attack her. It hadn’t gone well for him because Chloe was used to dealing with all matter of ghosts. She managed to force the angry one back into his grave and sealed the grave again and then looked at the remaining ghost. He gave her a jaunty smile. “I told him that he was being foolish by attacking anyone.” “Very foolish, especially since the one he ended up attacking is a necromancer who is used to worse.” She tilted her head, giving the ghost a faint smile. “Is there something that you needed from me?” The ghost shook his head. “Nothing too much, really. I’m just ready to rest and I’ve been wandering for so long. You’re the first one that has come by here lately that tastes of power.” Chloe nodded. “I can do that, and a lot gentler than what happened with your friend.” The ghost took her outstretched hand and led her to his grave. The stone was almost illegible, but the site felt right as it matched the feeling of the ghost. With a few soft words under her breath and some gentle moves with her hands, the ghost sank into the earth of the grave and Chloe drew sigils in the air above the grave to seal him in. It took a lot for Wei Wuxian not to interfere when he takes note of the ghost that attacks Chloe. However, the girl seemed to have it under control. Something that doesn't surprise him any. There had been talks before, on the network, and now he got to see her work itself. It was impressive and not something that he was used to seeing. Finding a tree he leans back against it and watches her lay the ghosts to rest. Watches her use some kind of sigils in the air. It almost reminded him of his talismans that he tended to use. Those, at the very least, didn't take spiritual energy. Or rather... didn't take much of it anyway. After all, he didn't have any of that anymore. Even if dual cultivation was working on the weak golden core he had thanks to being revived by Mo Xuanyu. "Aiya! What did he think he was doing?" It's asked with a bit of a grin. "Not bad," he states twirling Chenqing in his fingers. His husband might get a bit grumpy with him for using his dizi to mess with the zombie but he could handle that. "Not bad." Chloe turned her head when she heard someone talk and then smiled when she recognized the man that she had spoken with on the network a few times. She saw the flute that he was twirling and the riddle of the music that led the zombie away was solved for her. “He was being foolish, is what he was being,” she said with a smile as she walked in his direction. “It’s been a while since a ghost has tried to attack me like that. They usually don’t because my power can make life really interesting for them.” She makes a face at this. Shaking her head, she looked at him. “I take it that the zombie wasn’t a threat?” She was going to assume so since it hadn’t tried attacking her when it had come near her. She was just curious as to what it had wanted. "I saw." It had been a bit obvious that the ghost had been foolish. Though the ghost should've been happy that his husband hadn't been there or they would've found themselves attacked with spiritual energy, either with Bichen or Wangji. It would depend on his husband's weapon of choice at the time. He gives her a half smile," No, the zombie was no threat to this one or even to the city." Though he also knows that a lot of the zombies don't really have a consciousness too, not like his Ghost General and Daozhang Song. If she had any more questions he’d happily answer them but no… the zombie hadn’t been a threat to anyone. |
