Juneteenth Celebration
Juneteenth will be celebrated with several events around town.
A large field in the park - There will be BBQ and other food vendors. There will be bouncy castles and other inflatables for children. Black Artists will perform live music as well. At night there will be fireworks.
Madison Tea Company - A Poetry Slam of Black poets
Parade - There will be a parade at noon with floats, dancing, marching bands and people celebrating
Madison High School - Will be putting on a talent show featuring monologues, scenes, music, poetry, magic tricks, and other talents by Black students.
Pop-Up Museum - There will be a pop-up museum in a formally empty building that will house several exhibits on American Black history, celebrating important Black figures, inventions, and contributions, and also the hardships of today.
Art Store - will feature local Black artists and art from the Harlem Renaissance
Taste of Soul - A black-owned restaurant will be hosting a African and Carribean food event where people can come adn try a little bit of food from each culture.
