Kristoff had to admit he appreciated the use of Uber. He should probably take driving classes, but the Arendellan didn’t really want to drive. However, one of the family probably should, especially with him and Anna expecting a baby. Which was why he entered the house with a crib and some more onesies for when the baby arrived.
“Hey lovely wife! I come bearing…well a crib. That may take you, me, your sister, and half the population of the Dome to put together, but I’m hopeful. Possibly after a cup of coffee? Or chocolate milk?” He brought everything into the family room and went to find his wife.
Anna beamed excitedly. “Oh how wonderful! It’s beautiful, perfect for our little bundle of joy.”
She lovingly tapped on her belly as though she were comforting the child growing inside her. “I can’t wait to meet her, and I can’t wait for all those various loved ones we have in the Dome to meet her. Especially her Aunt Elsa.”
There was so much to look forward to…and so much to prepare for.
Kristoff knew how excited Anna was for the upcoming baby, because he felt the same way. He couldn’t imagine a more perfect addition to their family.
“I’m certain her Aunt Elsa will spoil the little one.” Kristoff moved close to wrap his wife in his arms, with a kiss to her forehead. “I also brought you home some chocolate. We have Snickers, chocolate ice cream, and ingredients for brownies.”
“How are you feeling?”
Anna smiled brightly at the thought of Elsa spoiling the baby. She knew her sister would love this little girl very much. There was no doubt in her mind about that.
"I'm feeling okay. That morning sickness I've heard about hasn't struck, yet." She was very glad about that. "So I can enjoy all this chocolatey goodness. Thank you for getting it for me, my wonderful husband."
He really was the most thoughtful and loving person she knew.
Elsa would undoubtedly spoil their child. And, given Kate’s profession, she might like to meet their child too.
“Well, I did pick up some ginger ale and tea to help settle upset stomachs, if and when you do start experiencing it.” Kristoff smiled and started to put away the groceries. “I’m glad! You and baby deserve all of the chocolatey goodness.” He took out a bowl, placed a brownie in it, and heated it to warm it, before adding a scoop of ice cream on top.
“Why don’t you sit and eat, while I start dinner? We can deal with the crib afterwards?”
Anna wanted everyone they cared about to meet this child. She was going to be surrounded by so much love. It was an exciting time.
“I appreciate that very much. I can’t be this lucky for much longer.” It was inevitable that she’d feel the illness part of her condition. “It will be of good use.”
Regarding his offer, she added, “That sounds lovely. You really are the best.”
She meant every word of that.
“Okay dinner options. Do you want pasta with vegan pesto? Or do you want me to make stuffed shells? Which now that I state it are more similar than in my head originally. Or, I can whip up some tacos.” Kristoff found he really liked cooking. He could even bake a little.
While he waited for Anna to respond, Kristoff finished putting away the groceries and filled his water bottle.
“Oh, they were out of the prenatal vitamins, but the pharmacist assured me they’d be restocked the day after tomorrow and I think you have enough to get you through another week?”
“I have enough for sure,” Anna said, smiling warmly at her husband. “You take such good care of me. I appreciate it every day.”
To the question regarding dinner, she added, “Ooh, do you mind if we have tacos? I’m having a strange craving for them.”
Was it a pregnancy thing? Or was she just a big fan of Mexican food? It could go either way.
“Well, you deserve my taking care of you, Anna.” Kristoff knew she hadn’t had the easiest life, even as a princess. Thankfully things got better. “I love you.”
“Not at all.” Kristoff would make two batches of tacos. One vegan and one meat and bean for the girls. “Thankfully the tomatoes were the perfect ripeness for pico de galla.” He washed his hands and then cleaned the veggies and fruit to remove pesticides.
“What did you get up today?” he asked as he began to chop the onions. Yes, Kristoff had plastic glasses on his face because otherwise the onions made his eyes water so badly he couldn’t see anything.
Anna thought he looked cute with the glasses on. She also liked that they protected his eyes.
“Not a whole lot. Went to work. Oh! And Sven and I went for a walk.” She loved going on walks with her reindeer friend. “He is just as excited for the baby. And very protective.”
It was very sweet.
Kristoff finished with the onions, washed his hands again, and removed the glasses. He moved to kiss his wife.
“Sven is the absolute best.” Sven couldn’t wait for the baby. Kristoff resumed working on dinner, happy to chat with his wife while he cooked.
Anna was the happiest she had been in a long time, and that was saying something considering she was pretty much always happy. She had her family and friends here, and soon there would be a new bundle of joy.
