Logan was still in disbelief about this place and what it was doing to him. Before arriving here, he could count the times in his life that he had truly been happy on one hand, but this place had changed all that. But it was more than that! This was the happiest he had ever been, and for once he was trying to think positively about his future. He had a family here, but more than that he had a daughter that could potentially live as long as he did. That meant, he might actually not outlive everyone he cared about. That was a new feeling for him, and while some people might not welcome it, he did. Of course, he wasn't about to go seeking death or anything, but knowing that there could come a time when he would he finally know that kind of peace was a comfort to him. But then there was also the fact that for the very first time in his life, he thought that he had truly found the peace that he had always craved. This was going to be just another normal night where he went out for a drink, and hopefully nothing too crazy would happen while he was out. He certainly was looking forward to spending some more time out and about. He had already learned quite a bit about this new town, but he knew that there was always more to learn. At the very least the thought he would give Verdant another try. He had spent so much time at the homebrew, and having another place to go get a drink was never a bad thing. Plus, having a few other regular places might lead to him meeting more people. While he wasn't known for making friends easily, he did want to have a wide variety of connections in this place. Anything to keep his daughter safe, and if anyone else showed up from back home, he was more likely to run into them if he spent more time out of the house. Once he had made his way inside the bar, he headed right for one of the stools. He had always thought that was the best place to drink, especially if you were looking to get noticed. So, he took a seat on one of the stools, ordered himself a bourbon and then turned to see who might be hanging out in the place that evening. |
