Oliver was so pleased that he finally had a job, but he was also determined to have more balance in his life this time around. So, he had made sure to allow plenty of time for himself, and time to spend with those in his life that he cared about. He wasn't about to make the same mistakes in this new world; he still believed that this place might be his one true chance at happiness. So, even though it was his day off he had made plans to get out of the house and enjoy himself a little bit. Of course, the definition of fun had changed a little bit for Oliver over time. While he still enjoyed going out and having a drink with friends, it wasn't something that he did all the time. Instead, he was going to go for a nice walk in the park and then treat himself to dinner. Of course, he would have invited Nikita, but he knew her eating habits and for some reason he had a craving for a burger. So, he was headed to the Homebrew, because he knew just how good the food was. Once inside, he nodded to the hostess and made his way to one of the free tables near the back. He knew that she wouldn't mind, and someone would be there to take his order shortly. He didn't mind waiting until the other customers were served first, and whomever did take his order would receive a generous tip as always. That was something he was adamant about these days, because he knew a little bit better now what it meant to have one of these kinds of jobs. It certainly was harder than most made it look, and he was determined to make up for all that time spent in his youth not doing the right thing in this particular area. He also noticed that the place was rather busy and the last couple of tables were filling up rather quickly. So, when he spotted another man coming through the door, he waived for the waitress to come over. He made sure to let her know that if the man wanted a table to just let him know and he would be happy to dine at the bar. He waited and watched while the waitress made her way over to the other man to deliver the message. He had already pushed the chair back a little way from the table so that he could get up quickly if the man did want the table. The last thing he wanted was for the Homebrew to lose any customers just because he had chosen to dine there on his day off. So, he certainly hoped that the waitress would be convincing that it really wasn't any trouble for Oliver at all. |
