Clem was still feeling very protective Henry, and if anything, she had been doting on him even more than usual. After everything he had been through simply because he was trying to protect her, she felt like he truly deserved it. Luckily no one seemed to be getting upset with her for wanting to spend even more time with her best friend. Fortunately, he was a service dog, and no one questioned it when she wanted to spend all of her time with him. Today wouldn't be any different. Henry had sat her feet under the table while she finished all of her lessons, and then he had gone to her room with her while she got ready for their evening outing to the park. Since his paw had healed up some, her dad said they could do evenings at the park for an hour as long as Clem didn't allow Henry to push himself too hard. Once Clem was ready and she had Henry's leash and favorite toy in hand, the two of them made their way downstairs and then straight out the front door. Of course, she had made sure to remind her father of where she was going and promised she would be home within the hour as always. While some kids her age might think her to be nerdy or some kind of goody-goody, she respected her father and Allison. But more than that, she didn't want them to worry about her any more than they already had to because of her condition. So, she was adamant about telling them where she was going and when she would be home. Henry moved a little bit slower, so the walk to the park took a little bit longer than it usually did. Clem didn't mind though, because it allowed her to see some more the scenery and take her time as well. After all, she had lived through that moment as well. Once she had made her way into the park, she took a seat on one of the benches and let Henry stretch out in front of her. This was more about enjoying being outside than romping around playing. Henry still needed to heal, after all. |
