Who: Ace and Open What: Ace's bad luck was particularly strong today, so he was sent home When: Late Morning Where: Streets Rating: low
Ace had thought he'd been doing pretty good lately. He had, in fact, thought he'd and Nancy had beaten the curse. He should have realized this was some sort of trick by the Dome...r maybe it was a trick by Temperance herself. Either way, he hadn't expected his morning shift at the Art Supply store to result in falling off the ladder, jabbing himself a few times with pins from mysteriously opened needlepoint kits, and having several paints spill and tripping and sliding on the ensuing mess. That was when the call was made to send him home and honestly? Ace couldn't argue.
Covered in red and blue paint from head to toe, Ace left the store. He ached all over and he was trying to figure out what to tell Nancy. She was going to be disappointed, but he also knew if he didn't say something to her, she'd get angry when she inevitably found out - Nancy always found things out.
He sighed, then realized he was about to walk into a pole of a 'no stopping' sign. He swerved at the last minute and only managed to clip his shoulder. Which still hurt.
