Loki knocked hard on the front door to get David’s attention. He sincerely hoped that David’s ward wasn’t hanging around, as that often made things awkward. While Loki thought that Madison was actually a fairly interesting young woman, he didn’t want to make her feel uncomfortable. He had a bottle of wine ready to go, and nothing to do tomorrow. Perhaps tonight David could continue his work in introducing Loki to his favorite streaming programs.
David hadn’t been expecting any company that evening, he was planning on staying home all night binging television or movies or something with some delivery Chinese food. So he eyed the door for a moment when there was a knock. He sighed softly, and headed toward the door. He pulled it open, “I don’t know who you think you are, but…” He then stopped himself mid-sentence when his brain registered who was on the other side of the door.
“But you have arrived just in time and with just what I wanted,” he said, reaching for Loki’s hand and pulling him inside. He pressed a firm kiss against the god’s lips, and smiled a bit as he pulled away.
“I like it when you surprise me.”
“You don’t know who I think I am?” Loki asked, amusement pulling the smirk to his lips. His hand wrapped around David’s and he was tugged inside the home. His hand holding the bottle wrapped down and around David, and pulled their bodies together as he returned the kiss.
“I’m full of surprises,” Loki responded. He released David and offered the bottle of wine. “I thought you might want to continue introducing me to bingeworthy programming.”
David was quite glad that Loki had decided to visit tonight – it wasn’t a normal occurrence to have the Trickster God in his house. Willingly. He was planning on taking full advantage of the situation, and he hoped Loki expected no less. He pressed another kiss against his lips, before stepping away and arching an eyebrow at him. “Yes. Who do you think you are, coming over unannounced?” He grinned at Loki before taking the offered bottle of wine.
“I can definitely introduce you to bingeworthy programming,” he informed the other. “I was just about to order takeout, are you hungry?”
He hoped so. He was hungry. Though he could still order takeout even if Loki didn’t want food.
“A god.” Loki responded, then passed the wine over to David. He turned to wander the apartment while David uncorked and poured the wine.
“I could have dinner with you,” the god responded, moving into the room and glancing at the dark television screen. “Dinner, wine, and a bingeworthy show. It sounds like quite an evening.”
“Yes, I am fully aware of that,” David said, smirking slightly as he opened the wine. Once the wine was poured into two wine glasses, he handed one to Loki. “I have no doubt you brought some good wine. I expect nothing less.” If there was one thing to know about the Trickster God it was that he enjoyed a nice bottle of wine. The cheap stuff would never do.
“It does sound like a nice evening,” he agreed, as he made his way toward the couch. “Perhaps you might even get lucky enough to join me in my bed tonight.” Of course Loki would be able to join him in bed. It was all up to Loki as to whether he accepted the offer.
“I was thinking we should watch the first season of Yellowjackets,” he said.
This world didn’t have a ton of things going for it--at least, not when compared to Asgard--but one thing that it did fairly well was wine. Of course Loki enjoyed a good bottle of wine.
Loki took his glass and followed David toward the sofa. He perched on the cushion at the end. “Perhaps?” He smirked softly as he lifted the glass to his lips. “Of course I’ll be joining you in your bed tonight.” As if there was not a question that’s what was going to happen.
He leaned back and lowered the glass, holding it by the lip as his hand dangled over the arm of the sofa. “What is Yellowjackets?”
“Oh will you, then?” David asked, arching an eyebrow at Loki and smirking. “I suppose I will have to change my busy plans for the evening…” Of course, he had no plans for the night that didn’t involve Loki. He was certain the other knew that as well. David was rarely able to get one past the Trickster god.
“It’s about a high school girls’ soccer team. They win their state game or whatever, and have Nationals next. In order to get to that game they have to fly by plane – which crashes in the middle of the wilderness and they have to live eighteen months attempting to survive, or something. Not sure how good it is, but I hear the second season has cannibalism.”
He shrugged a bit at this as he took a sip of his wine. “We can watch Breaking Bad instead, if you want.”
