The joy of knowing more than a few people at Pandemonium was that Brooke could get in and have fun. Brooke had decided to shake up her evening and hit up somewhere new plus she wanted to catch up with some of her favorite people. Dressed to kill, which was no surprise to anyone who knew her, she had hit the dance floor for a few before deciding to go see if a certain bartender was free. Finding an open spot, she sat down at the bar, waiting with a smile for Eliot to come over. “Hey handsome. How’s my favorite bartender doing?” She asked, blowing a kiss to him once he had come over to her. Oh, she had some stuff to share with him, and was sure the same on his end.
“My night has certainly brightened up,” Eliot said with a grin, leaning across the bar so he could kiss her cheek. “What is my favorite blonde drinking tonight?” He was well aware that Brooke was under twenty one and didn’t have any qualms about serving her. Worst case, he could cast illusion magic over her ID and make it look like she was old enough if they got raided. It was unlikely though.
It had been a while since he and Brooke had a good gossip session and he hoped that he wouldn’t be too busy with other customers to spend some time chatting with her.
“I tend to have a way of making people’s nights better,” she placed a kiss on his cheek at the same moment he did on her. His question, she eyed the alcohol, debating what she was in the mood for. “I’ll start off with a coke and rum then see where the night takes me,” Brooke was very grateful for the ones who ignored that she was still under 21. Had the dome never sent her home, then this would’ve been her 21st birthday but nope, that was now next year. While she had a fake, it was nice when she didn’t need to bring it out like when she was here or at Verdant, knowing her friends took care of her and let her age slide.
She could feel some eyes on her, but they were a problem for later. Brooke was much more interested in catching up with her friend and hearing what was happening in his life. Also, sharing some of her new gossip from her own life. “How are things going? Anything fun and new going on that I must know about? Tell me all!” Brooke loved a good gossip session. Who didn’t?!
Eliot expertly mixed her drink and set it in front of her with a flourish. “I had a date,” he said, his lips turning up in a smile as he said the words. After all the losses he experienced, the idea of getting involved again was still overwhelming, but he liked Josh. “It was pretty great.” Which made him realize he really needed to reach out and see if Josh wanted to go out again.
“How about you?” he asked. “Broken any hearts lately?” Brooke was a beautiful woman and, like him, not exactly keen on relationships. It wouldn’t surprise him at all to learn that she left a trail of broken hearted men and women in her wake.
Brooke had been getting ready to take a sip of her drink, but then he said about having a date, which caused her to put the drink down for a moment. This was a big deal, and the fact he was smiling meant she didn’t need to go threaten to stab someone. Eliot was definitely someone who she’d stab a person for, then again she knew she wouldn’t need to, knowing Margo would probably handle it first. Either way, the smile said there was no stabbing needed! “And does this date have a name? Or am I going to need to go stalker on you to find out?” Brooke gave him a look that said she would do it, and he better not challenge her. She knew more than enough people that she would find out one way or another.
“When you look this good, it’s not that hard to break hearts. You, of all people should know that, handsome,” she said, wrinkling her nose at him as she picked up her drink. “But,” she said before taking a sip of her drink finally, pausing also to be a tad dramatic. Setting her drink down after a second before continuing with her comment, “there may be someone who might be having me rethink my heartbreaker ways.”
No stabbing was going to be necessary, at least Eliot hoped it wasn’t. He liked Josh and also knew that Josh was part of the crew of very scary vampires in town. If Brooke or Margo went after Josh, there was no doubt in Eliot’s mind that retaliation would be swift and brutal. “His name’s Josh,” he said. “Cute vampire. Works at the museum.”
The fact that Brooke was considering an actual relationship was far more surprising in Eliot’s opinion and he leaned on the bar. “Well, color me impressed,” he said. “Who is the lucky person who has you thinking about settling down?” Whoever it was must be very special.
Brooke took a sip of her drink, listening while also trying to put a face to the name. She knew plenty of people around this town; it was hard not to when she was such a social person. Still, the name wasn't ringing any bells at the moment. "I’m sure he’s very cute. Are you going to see him again? What did you two do on your first date?" Eliot was someone whom she loved and trusted as a very good friend, so she wanted him happy. The fact someone managed to get a date out of him was a big deal, and she wanted details. Or at least as much as he was willing to share! A laugh slipped out, but she was not at all surprised by the reaction. Oh, she was sure that if anything happened with her and Ben, then a lot of people would have the same reaction. Along with some people being sad because they couldn’t hook up with her anymore. "His name is Ben, and because I love to make things complicated in my life, he’s not only dead but a ghost," she really did like to keep her love life interesting. At least, she wouldn’t have to worry about another dead boyfriend, knowing she couldn’t do that again.
“He invited me to an exhibit at the museum,” Eliot said. “And then I went home with him.” Because why would he take things slow? That wasn’t in Eliot’s vocabulary. Life was too unpredictable for slow, especially in a place like this.
Eliot listened to her answer, his eyebrows furrowing the more she talked. “Well, now, that’s certainly a conundrum,” he said. “How the hell do you have a sex with a ghost?”
Brooke was not at all surprised by his comment about taking this Josh guy home. Probably be a little more surprised if he had said that he hadn’t. There was a reason her and Eliot got along so well because taking things slow was not normally in her vocabulary. Though right now said very differently with Ben. Then again, it wasn’t like she wasn’t still hooking up with people since she and Ben weren’t really anything as of right now. Nope, she just liked the guy, which was a big deal for her; however, she was still very much single and free to do what she wanted. “I’m super happy for you! And I’ll have to meet him at some point because I’m curious to meet this man who has your attention,” she told him with a smile. But she was very happy for Eliot and anyone who made her friends happy was fine in her book until they gave her a reason. His question caused her to start laughing, but it was a very valid question, especially when considering how they were. “Honestly? No idea though probably find out once he learns better on the whole making it where he can be seen. And who knows if it actually will go anywhere, but oh god, I hope if it does that I can have sex.” Brooke was one who liked sex, then again if that was off the table, she’d find someway or the two would need to have a talk. Because the idea of going without sex was not one she wanted to think about.
Eliot felt as protective of Brooke as he did of Margo and he was very curious to meet the guy who captured her attention. “You could always get creative with toys,” he suggested. “Maybe the guy has a voyeuristic streak.” If he was stuck as a ghost and unable to interact with people, Eliot imagined he would enjoy watching what other people were doing.
“He must be special if he’s caught your eye,” he said. “I’ll have to make sure he’s good enough for you.”
Brooke was an adventurous person and was definitely not at all shy when it came to anything that involved sex. Anyone who thought she was the shy type did not know her at all because Brooke was pretty sure she never even gave off that vibe. “I’m pretty sure he’s the innocent type and might be a virgin. Not completely sure, but then again we’re talking about me, so I’ll either corrupt him or it won’t end up lasting.” Brooke wasn’t about to change who she was, but she was also pretty sure Ben knew what she was like. “But I’m always up for getting creative, and depending on how things go, it may happen.” She faked an innocent little shrug before laughing cause Eliot knew better than any that there was nothing innocent about her.
“I think there will be a few people wanting to do that. But I think it’s more the worry that I’m going to end up hurting him. Though I promise if anything does happen, you can make sure.” Brooke did appreciate her friends around here and them being protective even if she could handle herself for the most part. Still, she would never turn away her backup ever! Noticing someone at the end of the bar. “Someone is wanting your attention. Come back to me once you’re done. I’ll miss you every moment you’re away,” she teased, reaching her arm out as if she was trying to hold on to him before picking up her drink to have some more.
