"It isn't right," Charly said firmly. "I wish we could put an end to such things, but..." she shrugged. "People are people, everywhere and everywhen." Even in the twenty-fifth century, where so many of the problems plaguing the world today had been solved, criminals still did terrible things. And not even for money, but arguably that made it worse, that they did things just for the satisfaction of putting one over on other people, for revenge, or cruelty.
"I don't think we need to worry about this particular individual again," Charly said. She wasn't sure if he'd been caught, or just vanished. Either way, the dome didn't often repeat itself. That didn't mean there wouldn't be other troublesome events to come.
Charly smiled at Daphne. "I'd say that's time well spent. You play very well."
