"I agree," Bilbo said. "We don't really get out much together, do we? I don't really get out much on my own, honestly. I go to the book store to work, but other than that I am here." Not that he really minded all that much -- Bilbo was an introverted homebody most of the time. All Hobbits tended to be that way. Bilbo was less of an introverted homebody than most Hobbits, but it was still how he was for the most part.
He found that he didn't mind working at the book store, though. They tended to realize how he was and that he wasn't too crazy about interacting with people so he tended to stock shelves more often than not.
A small smile appeared when Thorin sat down next to him on the couch. He was always more comfortable when the Dwarf was close by.
"I think that we should perhaps invite Aragorn over for dinner one night soon," he suggested. "It cannot be easy for him to not know anyone here in such a strange place. For the only person he's familiar with to be younger than he is accustomed to."
He truly did feel for the future King of Gondor. If he hadn't had Thorin and the others he would have gone crazy. As he suggested having Aragorn over, and as he considered life here without Thorin... he found himself leaning lightly against the Dwarf. As though to make sure he was really there. Really real.
