Finn wasn’t sure when or how it happened that he was no longer in that forest with Kylo and Rey, but through blurred vision all he could figure was he stumbled off a bit too far. He was in some bustling city. People walking by and staring. None of which Finn could actually focus on. He had blood dripping into his eyes from a nasty head injury that looked something equivalent to a burn.
He wore a leather jacket and black clothing that hid most of the injuries he suffered, but he really couldn’t be bothered to even worry about what people thought. In that moment, his head was swimming. All he could think about was getting to a more secluded area to pass out in. The sun was setting by the time he made it to a park area with a bench and a few squirrels for company when he finally gave into his injuries and collapsed. The last thought on his mind was of his friends. Rey, BB8, as much of a pain in the ass as he was the droid grew on Finn. He worried he might not see them again as his eyes closed and the world around him faded away. He had no clue where he was, or of anything going on around them.

Rey was used to expected unexpected things in Madison, but she had given up hope seeing anyone from home again. It had been a long time and it was only her and Anakin here now. Though as she and BB-8 were bringing Leo some new metal pieces they had come across, Rey sensed something odd - odd and familiar.
She left the forge, the droid following, and turned the corner as she saw Finn collapse.
“Finn!” She shouted his name and ran towards him. When she reached him, she felt her heart race harder - he was in bad shape. She had no idea the extent of his damages, but she didn’t want to wait for the clinic. She told BB-8 to phone the clinic while she placed a hand on Finn. The Force here was a little harder to control, but it was there nonetheless. She concentrated hard, focusing her energy until she felt him healing under her.

After the explosion of Starkiller Base, Poe lost control of his TIE fighter. As it spun out of control, he was convinced that this was it, he was going to die, and was comforted by the knowledge that at least he seriously hampered the First Order on his way out before everything went dark. When he regained consciousness, he had no idea where he was or how much time had passed, but none of that mattered since he was alive.
Poe climbed out of the wreckage and chose a direction to walk. He figured that he would eventually come across somewhere to get help so he could make his way back to the Resistance base. Except after walking for a while, everything suddenly changed around him and he found himself in an unfamiliar place. It was bright and loud and confusing. He stopped and looked around, trying to figure out what was going on, when he suddenly heard a familiar sound and looked down to see BB-8 rolling towards him. “BB-8!” he exclaimed. “What are you doing here?” Wherever here was. After an answering set of beeps, he took off following the droid as it rolled towards a young woman hovering over a grievously injured Finn.
“Who are you?” he demanded. “What happened?”
_
He had burn marks that looked like they had come from a hot knife, and in a way they had. Lighsaber had burnt his skin up and melted some of him like butter on a hot skillet. His breathing was low, he couldn’t respond. Nor did he have any idea that his friends were so close or he might have taken comfort in that. As it was, he found none. He found only darkness for a moment while the Force tried it’s best to revive him. It was like every fiber of his body had just shut down.
Finn’s jacket was probably the thing that kept him in one piece, that heavy jacket he’d taken from Poe long ago was mostly unharmed. Though a little bloody. He was at first unresponsive.
It took a minute before he started to react to Rey’s healing. The bleeding had stopped, the injuries began to seal. Still he couldn’t quite wake yet. The damage had been pretty intense,

Rey ignored the voice for a moment, even if a part of her recognized the voice. It didn't quite register since most of her focus was on trying to help Finn. Once she felt Finn stabilize a little, she looked up defiantly to scold the man. She only got out "He's my -" before she froze and her annoyed expression froze into something more like shock. "... Poe?" It had been a long time since she had seen him. Since she'd seen either of them and now they were both here at the same time.
–
Poe was startled when the young woman recognized him. Luckily, BB-8 quickly answered the “who are you question’ by telling him that she was Rey and she was trying to help Finn. Satisfied with that explanation for now, he crouched down on the other side of his friend, putting a hand on his shoulder. “Finn, buddy, you okay?” He had no idea where he was or what was happening, but at least he wasn’t here alone.
“What happened to him?” he asked again.
_
It was confusing for Rey why Poe didn't know her. Later she'd remember that the Dome liked to bring people from different times. For now it was merely confusing.
"He was hit with a lightsaber." She knew the injury well now. "He's been badly hurt." And Rey was worried about the fact that Finn wasn't awake yet. She placed her hand back on him and despite feeling a little tired already -
–
Finn took a minute to respond to what she was doing, lightsaber wounds weren’t just any wounds. They took a lot of energy from a person. He didn’t feel anything either of his two friends were doing up until the last moment when the Force Healing took full effect. Dark eyes slid open. The world around them came back to view. He made an attempt to get up instantly. That attempt failed he found himself back down on the ground. World spinning around him.
_
“Hey, woah, take it easy bud,” Poe said, reaching out to put his hand behind Finn’s head so it didn’t hit the ground too hard when his attempt to get up failed. “You’re going to be okay. Just relax.” Okay, Poe didn’t know for sure if Finn was going to be okay, but he was optimistic. It wouldn’t be right for his friend to finally escape the First Order only to be taken out by a lightsaber.
Who even used lightsabers anymore? He frowned at Rey. “Who hit him with a lightsaber?” Even though he could tell she was healing him, he didn’t think it was her, otherwise why would she bother to heal. Besides, both Finn and BB-8 had spoken highly of the young woman which meant that Poe was willing to give her a fair chance.
_
Rey echoed Poe in telling Finn to take it easy. At least Poe knew Finn and BB-8. It gave her some hope. "Kylo-Ren." It hurt to say the name, especially when Ben had, in the end, turned from the Dark Side.
Rey moved to help him so he could sit up a bit. They should probably start there. "I might have healed you, but it's still going to take some time for your body to recover." She scolded him a little, but her tone held familiarity and fondness.
"I know when Finn is from, but what's the last thing you remember?" She looked at Poe. It was obvious he didn't remember his time in Madison.
–
He took a minute as things came back into view for him. Recovery wasn’t going to be fun, but the last thing he wanted was to just stay there where they were. Wherever they were. As Rey scolded him with that familiar warmth he did give a small grimace and sat up. “We don’t have to stay here while I do that do we?” The pain was still uncomfortable. But then he noticed someone else was with them. “You’re okay though, that’s what matters.” He was clearly a bit confused on the order of things and how things were just then. But he had no clue what exactly happened to land them in this unknown place.
Then he saw him. The friend he thought he might not see again after that stint in the forest. “Poe!” A grin touched his face. He was so happy to see the other man, it’d been way too long. “Wait, you’re all here? How did we get here?...Where is here?” He had so many questions.
_
What did Rey mean by when he was from? Poe found himself growing more and more confused by the minute. He did smile though when Finn sat up and spoke. At least his friend was okay.
“I have no idea where here is or how we got here,” he said, his gaze shifting over to Rey again. “The last thing I remember from home is blowing up Starkiller Base. I lost control and my TIE fighter crashed.” Hopefully an explanation would be forthcoming, preferably from Rey and not BB-8.
_
She felt a wave of disappointment even if she had already figured out that Poe did not know her. “We have yet to meet then, but we will shortly. There will be a battle on Crait. We meet after that and then spend a lot of time fighting the New Order together.” The three of them, her expression seemed to say as she looked back to Finn.
“This is a place not of our Galaxy. The planet is called Earth and this town is named Madison. I cannot explain how we came to be here, only that we have and many others find themselves here too. And there is no way back home until this place chooses to release us.” She decided to delay the mention of Anakin for a moment or two. “You will be given housing and some money to live on until you can find a job.”
She paused, offering a sympathetic look. “I know it is a lot to take in.”
–
Finn wasn’t really absorbing what was happening considering the discomfort he still felt, but it didn’t really matter right then. His friends were there, and he wasn’t alone, so he could cope. “What happened to Kylo after the forest?” He was still confused on that topic, he just remembered face planting in a few feet of snow and never got to see the outcome.
He made another attempt to stand, leaning on Rey for a moment. He was still a bit unstable but it was clear he didn’t want to be on the ground anymore. “Job huh…well I guess options are better than no options.” He’d never had choice of what his work was before. It was a lot to think about. It really didn’t help his injuries. His head throbbed still.
“Where are you staying?” He asked Rey as he moved a hand to touch his temple. His hand shook a little from discomfort, but he wanted to be mobile again sooner than later so he ignored it.
_
Poe wasn’t surprised to learn that he would meet Rey soon. They were fighting on the same side and he assumed that it would happen eventually when Finn and BB-8 talked about her. What he hadn’t expected was traveling to a whole different galaxy and finding her there. With his droid.
“Maybe we can stay together,” he suggested to Finn. It seemed they both had a lot to learn about this world and it might be easier if they did so together.
_
“I… actually have a house.” Which was actually Poe’s before she had arrived. She was silent for a moment as she deliberated what to say. Then she went with - “which I used to live in with you, Poe…. but I can tell from our conversation you don’t remember being here. Which is something that happens here.” Her expression seemed to say ‘it’s complicated’ but only because she had no idea how to explain a place like this.
“But you don’t have to stay with me either. I understand this place is new and can be confusing.”
–
Finn was not the best at making decisions, so he’d leave that up to Poe to decide. “Wherever we end up, yes I’d like to be together.” He did know that much. He wanted to be with Poe as much as he could be. It was a rare opportunity to hang out with the man and get to know him and Rey better. They didn’t ever have time for things like this back where they were from.
Looking between them when Rey mentioned she lived with Poe, he could only smile at that. He liked the idea that his friends had known eachother so well. His head felt a bit fuzzy for a moment though. “Don’t feel so great.” He admitted as he touched his temple with a finger. He needed to sleep. At least that was what he thought, his body felt like a brick. He was having a hard time focusing on their words.
_
“If you have room for us, it might make things easier if we live with you,” Poe said. It would give him a chance to get to know her - again, apparently - and would also allow Finn to be with both of his friends.
He frowned when Finn said he wasn’t feeling so great. “How far away is your place?” he asked Rey. “Can we get him there easily?” They could figure out everything else once they ensured that Finn was going to be okay.
_
“It’s not too far and there’s room for both of you.” It just so happened they had enough rooms, though she’d have to tell them about Xander at some point… and Ben… and Palpatine. That was for later though - she didn’t want to confuse them even more right now and she wasn’t ready to see their faces with some of that information.
“I’ll help you get him back. BB-8 can lead the way.” The droid agreed with a few beeps. He was clearly happy to see Finn and Poe again.
