He shrugged. "A house is better here." He paused, then decided to elaborate. "I can customize it to what I need without anyone looking over my shoulder. In an apartment, they're regulated." Dick wasn't big on the whole asking permission thing or not being able to do something he thought was necessary. It was a big part of why he'd been a vigilante, really.
At Conner's question, he looked at the young man. His knee-jerk reaction was to say 'I can't answer that' because it would depend on Conner if he wanted to trust Clark. However then he had flashbacks to Bruce telling him the same thing and he remembered how much he hated it. "Clark is a good man. I think you should at least try to get to know him. You can always trust him later if you want. I don't think anyone expects you to jump into anything feet first."
They got to the restaurant and Dick held open the door for his friend. "How about for now we get a bite to eat and I give you a run down on some of the people here and what this place is like?"
(ooc: Wrap on yours with a nice and informative lunch?)
