Jes also knew about Matthias, although he didn't know how to bring it up. Or if he should bring it up, at all. He was leaning towards no on that. If she wanted to talk about it, she could broach the subject herself.
"Yep, that's three of us, anyway." Matthias was missing, but so was Wylan. At least Wylan was alive back home. He squeezed her again, tightly, at the thought. He couldn't fix it, but he could let her know she wasn't alone.
He let go of her and gave her his arm as he let her lead them in the direction of the waffle place.
"Well, of course I do," he teased, eyes twinkling. "Although honestly, Wylan has a lot to do with that. I haven't gambled in...in almost a month." He seemed surprised by that, but it was true. "And he hired a," he cleared his throat and spoke quietly enough that only she could hear. "A fabrikator. From Ravka. To...teach me. Probably part of the reason I look good too."
He raised an eyebrow at the last part.
"Last thing I remember?" He'd kind of just told her. "Living with Wylan."
