Thorin listened as the young hobbit spoke, but he also moved about helping wherever he could with preparing their meal. He nodded his head slightly, agreeing with the idea of this place being strange for Aragorn. He couldn't imagine how odd it would be if he had shown up here and not had anyone from his own world and time. He knew he would have found it even harder to fit in than it was for him now. So, he was very grateful that he wasn't in Aragorn's shoes. Though, he wasn't the type to rub that in. So, he kept that particular thought to himself.
"And I am very grateful that you were here when I arrived. I hold my kin very dear, but I wouldn't have wanted to be in this place without you" he replied, returning the sentiment. And he really did mean every single word, because for some reason that little Hobbit had worked his way into Thorin's heart and seemed to be there to stay.
