Tabitha wasn't blind to the downsides of this place, but in her case the good had certainly outweighed any negatives. Not only did she have a chance at a normal life here, but she also had a second chance with Kurt. And then there was the fact that she was actually making even more friends here. She knew that her life back home was better than some of the other people here had, but she was still grateful for the improvements. For the first time in a long time, she was genuinely happy and not just getting by. So, she would take all the downsides this place could throw at her as long as she got to keep these second chances at the good things in life. Yet another good thing about this place; she could go out for coffee whenever she wanted and not have people staring at her because they knew she was a mutant. Of course, she was proud of not only who she was but what she was, but it was also nice to not have the gawkers that made her regret ever leaving the house. She was choosing to take advantage of that by going out for coffee and perhaps even do a little shopping. She wanted to get a few more things that were comfortable for wearing around the house. Normally, she would just walk around in jogging pants and tan-top, but since she had been spending so much time at Kurt's lately, she wanted a few cuter comfortable options. She knew that he liked her just he way she was, but she also liked to look nice for him when she could. She also rather enjoyed the attention that came when he liked something she was wearing, but more than that he was the only person that she wanted to please. She really didn't care what anyone else thought about her, but for some reason his opinion held a lot of weight with her. Starbucks actually wasn't as busy this morning had she had thought it would be, so she was lucky enough to find a table near the door. She didn't think that she was paranoid, but this had always been her preference. She liked to be prepared in case she needed to make a quick exit. She made herself comfortable with her pastry and coffee and decided to take the chance of tuning out for a bit. She still focused enough on her surroundings, but she turned off that side of her brain that forced her to be hyper aware. For once, she just wanted to enjoy her morning. |
