"Okay, yes, you make a fair point. Apothecaries have been known to sell only medicinal remedies. I am fully aware of that fact. I chose the name for two reasons. One, it was the name of my store back home in Schitt's Creek. Second, this was already called Madison Valley Apothecary and it sold quite a few of the items we currently sell. When I took over, I saw no reason to change the name of the business entirely." And keeping a Rose Apothecary around made him feel like he was still in Schitt's Creek. Just a little bit.
"I am also aware of the fact that the town I lived in before Madison Valley has a very unfortunate name. It was named after the founders of the town. The mayor's name is Roland Schitt. ...which I think is a more unfortunate surname than it is the name of a town."
Naming the town Schitt's Creek was one thing, but keeping it as a surname was another.
