"That's fair." Usually he could tell within a small timeframe if he wanted to ever talk to a person again. He liked to think he was a good judge of character, but, then again, he was seated next to Johanna and she just said most people ran for the hills after five minutes with her.
Doc chuckled. "You're not that bad. Of course, I only have those five minutes and however long this has been to actually know you." And he wasn't sure how deep this conversation would go.
The gunslinger shook his head even though he rather enjoyed the weight of her hand on his shoulder. "Perhaps I was not very clear. It was my first speed dating experience. I do not date in general." Nor did he really have the time for it in Purgatory. Shit always seemed to hit the fan there.
Doc's lips twitched into a smirk behind his moustache. "And who says I'd prefer gentle, darlin'. Where is the fun in that?" Doc winked at her and took a sip from his whiskey. He could handle smartass comments. He was known to dish out a few himself as did his friends back home.
At her description of her dates, Doc winced. "Ouch. You had some variety there, darlin'."
