Every morning before starting her class-work Clem had breakfast and then took Henry for a walk in the park. She didn't mind that this meant waking up extra early everyday, because it gave her time to spend with Henry and to enjoy herself for a little while before starting her day. This morning wouldn't be any different; once she had finished her breakfast she made her way back into her bedroom to get dressed and get Henry's leash. Within twenty minutes she was dressed and ready to go, and Henry was sitting in front of her waiting patiently for his leash. He really was a well behaved dog, but it was more than that; he was loyal to her more than anyone else and he would do whatever she needed him to. What made their relationship even interesting though was that she would always be willing to do the same for him. As always Henry led the way out of the apartment, but the two of them were so in sync that Henry seemed to know right where she wanted them to go for the day. And sure enough he led them down the right path to make their way to the park, so the two of them walked along at rather pleasant pace. There was a little chill in the air, but she was enjoying it and Henry seemed to be as well. So, she didn't bother with quickening their pace because she still had plenty of time before she had to be home to start her work. Though, the park did finally come into view, and Henry was clearly in the mood to play so Clem finally quickened her pace so that they would get there a little faster. Once they made their way through the gate, Clem let Henry off his leash so that he could run for a moment. Clem moved to make her way over to her usual bench, but before she could get there she tripped over a stone that had been left on the path. She fell down to her knees and right away she knew that she had skinned both of them rather badly. Within seconds Henry was back at her side and he stood still so that she could brace herself on him to stand back up. She was smart enough to know that walking back home right away was not an option, so she made her way over to the bench with Henry following her every step of the way. Once she sat down she took a couple of deep breaths before trying to gage the damage. |
