Josie hadn't like the way things had been so awkward for her and Rowan and not having her friend in her life. Of course, she knew that they both had needed time after their previous discussion and Josie had been determined that they both should have it. But now it seemed that they both were ready to talk again, and perhaps they could get their friendship back to where it was. Josie had figured out the truth of her feelings; it had been simply a crush and now that she could see the truth it had been simple enough for her to deal with those feelings and go back to seeing Rowan as nothing more than a friend....maybe one day even a best friend. So, she wanted to assure Rowan that from her end, there was no awkwardness or hurt feelings. If Rowan still needed time after today, of course Josie would give it to her but she was hopeful that they could put this behind them at last. She has asked Rowan to meet her at Hope's restaurant, because she felt comfortable there and honestly it was easier for her to be more herself. It just felt so much like home, because it reminded her of one of her dearest friends and near sister. So, she had been grateful when Rowan agreed to meet her there even thought it wasn't really neutral ground. Because of this she was determined to make Rowan as comfortable as possible, so she had arranged to pay the tab herself after all was said and done. On top of that, she had requested a table with a clear view of the door in case Rowan had wanted to leave early. Josie was already sitting at that very table and since she was sure the waitress would show Rowan to the table when she arrived, Josie had taken the seat with her back towards the door. It was yet another way of making Rowan more comfortable; from that seat she would have a clear view of the door and she would be able to see anyone coming in their direction. A glass of tea sat on the table in front of Josie, as that was the only thing she had ordered to tide herself over until her friend arrived. |
