Spending time with his friends had always been very important to Jaune, and for some reason it had become even more so here. He didn't really understand himself either, because it wasn't like back home. They weren't in danger all the time here; the only reason he could come up with was that he wanted to spend time with them while they could all have this rare chance at being normal friends. He didn't regret his choice to go to Beacon and become a hunter, but there were those moments when he wished that things would just slow down....that he could be a kid again. While it may seem childish to some, he had to believe that it was the one thing he was fighting so hard for back home. He wanted to give others a chance at the life he may never have again. But for right now he didn't have to worry about any of that, and he was going to make the most of the time he had here with the people that he cared about. For today, that meant coffee with Nora and he was honestly looking forward to it. So, he had risen early, too excited to sleep perhaps. In his eagerness for the day, it also didn't take him long to get ready and this led to him being ready a full two hours ahead of schedule. He knew that he didn't want to be this early to coffee shop, because sitting there alone while other people met their friends just didn't appeal to him. So, instead he decided to do some reading. He had bought some books on this more modern world, so he pulled out one of those now, turning to the page he had stopped on last night and he began to read. Unfortunately he wound up getting a little lost in the book and by the time he looked at the clock and realized his mistake he was already ten minutes late. So, he closed his book, grabbed his things and made his way out the door. Right away he took off at a run, making his way easily through the crowd of people, so that he arrived at Starbucks only ten minutes after leaving his apartment. He made his way inside and looked around to see if he could spot her. He certainly hoped that she hadn't given up on him and headed home; he would certainly feel very bad about that. |
