"What were you thinking about when it happened?" Leonard was no expert on abilities. He didn't possess any of his own and what little he did know didn't apply to manifesting suddenly in a Starbucks. However, he knew that abilities were often fueled by emotions and mental exercise. Maybe if he could remember what he was thinking about, he'd be able to replicate it.
When he said he hoped it wasn't a location thing, Leonard chuckled before shaking his head. "I doubt it is a location thing. I'm no expert, but I feel like that isn't the case."
"Hey." Before Leonard could shift out of his reach, the young man attempted to touch his shoulder. His hand went right through Leonard's shoulder. What the hell? Leonard didn't feel anything, but it was still really weird to witness.
It was clear the young man was disappointed by this development. If Leonard was in his place, he probably would be too. "A little heads up next time would be appreciated," Leonard stated. "And it probably takes a lot more energy to be able to physically touch things. You're just not there yet."
