Clawdeen certainly didn't like being taken away from her family and friends, but this place also didn't seem so bad. Of course, she was a little worried....who wouldn't be, but she also knew that she could take care of herself. And then there was the fact that she had been given a guardian and she was most excited to get to know him better. It was no secret, that she loved making new friends and perhaps this older man would be someone that she could come to rely on and in turn she could become that for him. She had always believed that all relationships should be give and take, so she would do anything that she could to return any kindness shown to her. When she had arrived the only things she had with her was her backpack purse, containing 2 of her favorite books, a picture of her father and her skateboard. It wasn't shocking for her to have her skateboard though; she never left her house without it. It was her main mode of transportation most of the time....unless she chose to run, and even then she would carry her skateboard with her. So, upon arrival at what was to become her new home she had pulled the picture from her bag and put it in her pocket. The bag laid forgotten by the door, but the skateboard was stretched across her lap as she sat on the couch. It was one of the two things she refused to let out of her sight simply for fear that it might be taken away from her. She knew that Elijah had things to do; after all, he already had a life here. So, she did her best to simply sit and rest on the couch as he moved about the house dealing with whatever he had to do for the day. Though she did have quite a few thoughts rushing around in her mind and it wasn't long before she found herself unable to stay silent any longer. "I'm sorry...I know you probably have things to do, but I was just wondering why I am here?" she asked, wondering if he could even hear her as he moved about the house. |
