Alyssa hadn’t known what to expect in going for drinks with Damien’s brother. After about a half hour it became apparent to Alyssa that meeting Damien first probably worked out for the best. Bran could spell trouble for her and her ability to behave, although Alyssa knew she would never have developed romantic feelings for him. But knowing that Damien didn’t want to clean up their mess kept her very much in check. Plus, people she loved and cared about lived in the Dome.
Bran liked Alyssa, which honestly shocked him..a lot. She laughed a lot and seemed to…like life. All parts of it. The younger Duval thought perhaps she would loosen up his brother. Maybe. What he appreciated the most, though, was that Alyssa held her own and could keep up with him. Outside of his brother and Jimmy, he had yet to meet someone who could.
Which is how the two found themselves playing bar dice with some townie idiots. They asked Alyssa, and seemed put out when Bran joined them, but like hell he would allow his brother’s girl to play drinking games unsupervised. And at this point Bran considered Alyssa his brother’s.
Of course, he enjoyed compelling the two to think they lost every time. “No matter what you roll, our rolls will always win.” Alyssa found it amusing and just the right amount of chaos.
After the two grumbled and left following six rounds, Bran went outside to light up a cigarette, mostly because Alyssa said he wouldn’t be smoking in the bar. He grumbled, but agreed, and hey, at least a pretty girl followed him outside. Fresh blood.
Meanwhile, Alyssa made her way to the washroom, and emerged a couple minutes later…to find the damn idiots who played bar dice with her and Bran. “Now that your boyfriend is gone, maybe we can have some fun,” the blonder one suggested. “Okay, first of all, not my boyfriend,” Alyssa muttered. “Is that really what you think? A girl and guy can’t just be friends?” Not least of all because the closest Alyssa had to a boyfriend was Bran’s brother. Apparently, she shouldn’t have said that to him, because the other (and cuter) one pushed her against the wall and said, “I think it’ll be far more fun to wipe that smirk off her face. Slowly.” He leaned in and pressed a very unenjoyable kiss against her mouth, while other creep started to grab at her wings.
Bran took a little longer, enjoying his smoke and the blood, before he excused himself to go back inside. “Where the fuck did the winged girl go?” His nose told him to head towards the washroom. When he saw the scene before him, Bran wasted no time calling his brother. Damien’s girl and his ability to handle things without ripping off heads made it so Bran actually stayed his hand…for once. Until Damien said otherwise.
