Ironically enough, Kol felt the same way. For the first time in his immortal life, Kol felt he had a chance at happiness and he wasn't about to let anyone take it away from him either. Of course, there was a small part of him that felt it could all disappear at a moment's notice, but he tried his best to squash those feelings most days. And having people like Tabitha in his life made that easier.
Tabitha intrigued Kol from the moment he first met her. She was different, special, and her past contained elements similar to his own. It was impossible for them not to bond over shared family drama or bad father figures. But it was more than that. Kol liked how Tabitha embraced her uniqueness and he admired her clear ability to survive whatever this world threw at her.
So, for Kol, it was easy to have faith in her. She'd never betrayed him nor struck out against him. Tabitha listened to him and she enjoyed spending time with him. She was a true friend and that made all the difference to Kol. Yes, it was strange to have so many friends and people he could count on, but he certainly didn't hate it.
"Absolutely, love," Kol replied, smile still on his lips as he took up her hand and squeezed it gently. "And there is no other outsider I'd rather have to watch my back."
