Jaune was still getting used to the idea that he didn't have to spend all of his time here constantly on his guard. In the world that he had left behind he had been in the midst of a war, so it seemed to strange to arrive here and find that he wouldn't have to fight for his life every single day. Of course, he had hoped for the end of that war, but he certainly hadn't thought that the end would come so soon for him. Apparently the war would continue back home, but time was frozen from the moment he left or something like that. So, that if he were to be sent back home he would simply pick back up where he left off. That had seemed all the more strange to him, but that tad bit of information had led to him making a promise to himself. He would stay in shape, continue his training so that if he were to be sent back home he would be able to help his friends. In the meantime, he would also spend time with his friends that were here. He just didn't have it in his heart to spend all of his time training and ignore those people that he had come to care so much about. Jaune also saw the wisdom of making the most of this time of peace and doing the types of fun things together that they hadn't been able to do since their days at Beacon. That was what led him to be walking down the side walk towards the Tea shop of his choice. He would be meeting Weiss for some tea and a snack. It would be nice to catch up with her and find out what kind of life she had made for herself here. The idea that some of his friends had been here so much longer than him had been a hard pill to swallow at first, but now he was finally wrapping his mind around it. So, he wanted to know more about their new lives and make sure that they were all happy. Of course, being on the same team meant that he had a very close relationship with Nora and Ren, but he had almost the same relationship with Ruby's team. They had all fought so closely together for so long, so Weiss had become a very good friend to him in recent years. It had been awkward at first because of his crush on her, but as things had developed with Pyrrha Nikos, his relationship with Weiss had developed into the friendship they had now. Even losing Pyrrha Nikos hadn't changed that, and for that he was grateful. The thoughts of his fallen friend brought a sadness upon his face, but he pushed it down as always as he made his way through the front doors and looked around to see if Weiss had arrived yet. |
