John always looked forward to the times that he got to spend with Ellen, so it was no surprise to find him in such good spirits. He would be seeing her tonight and he was determined to make sure that they both had a lovely time. So, he had went out and bought all he needed to make a wonderful dinner for the pair of them and of course, he had bought her flowers and chocolates. They were already waiting in the kitchen as he made his way upstairs to take a shower before starting his work on their mini-feast for the evening. He had never been the type to dress up much, but he did want to make sure he looked nice enough for their evening in. After his shower he dressed himself in a pair of jeans that fit him perfectly and a form fitting forest green shirt. He combed his hair, and then padded downstairs and back into the kitchen. As he began pulling out the ingredients that he had purchased earlier that day, he made sure to pay attention to the time. He didn't want her having to wait on her food, and he also wanted to know when it was time for her to arrive, so that he would be sure to be listening for the door. He wasn't a fancy chef by any means, but he had learned his way around a kitchen at an early age. So, when he had finished his work there was a steaming hot pot of chili on the stove and homemade french fries ready to throw in the fryer. Chili Cheese Fries may not seem like anything fancy, but he knew that having the key components be homemade made all the difference in the world. He just hoped that she would agree with him. Everything was right on track, so he looked down at his watch and saw that it was nearly time for her to arrive. So, he made his way into the living room, so that he would hear the door. Once she had arrived, he would throw the fries in the heated fryer and after only minutes everything would be ready to serve. After all, he wasn't about to serve her cold fries. With all of that in mind, he took a seat on the couch and waited rather impatiently for that doorbell to ring. |
