It had been a rough few weeks for Adrian. Healing Angeline had taken a lot out of him, and somehow, with some reservoir of willpower he didn't even know he had, he'd managed to make it through without drinking a single drink. He couldn't say the same about cigarettes, though. He'd have to work on that again. But on the whole, they were easier to start and stop than it had been for him to start or stop drinking, so he was at least a little proud of himself.
He was also debating going back on anti-depressants again, something that was always a bit of a debate within him. He felt better when he was on them, sure. But there was always a part of him that missed the magic so desperately that it felt that he'd lost a limb. And what if Sydney or someone he cared about was hurt - like Angeline had been? She might have died if he hadn't been there with access to his magic. Then again, every time he used his magic in any large amount, it came closer and closer to driving him insane. Was that worth it? Was it worth it to upset Sydney? He didn't want to do that, not ever. Well, he'd think about it anyway and try to come up with the correct answer.
Today, though, he had other things on his mind. Like the painting that he was really proud of so far, but the one that he'd also run out of blue paint for. He should have checked his paints ahead of time, but he'd been too caught up in it and really didn't know how much blue he would need in the first place. So now he was at the art shop with his empty paint tube so he wouldn't forget and get the wrong color. Humming under his breath, he was searching through the colors, trying to find the right one.
