Re: Tess & Max
Max could see Tess was getting a little better each time, which was better than some people who she had seen with the games. Some even in this room right now who kept trying and weren’t getting any better. Yes, she was a bit depressed that she couldn’t be playing herself and kicking some major ass, especially against people she knew, but she was enjoying herself. Plus she was introducing someone else to a game.
“Almost got it,” she said quite a few times; however, Max was also cheering her on, the best she could. It was more in words than any actions considering the situation with the casts and wheelchair. Had it been any of the boys Max hung out with back home, she’d have made a sarcastic comment on celebrating about crossing the road. Mainly because of how much they spent playing games, and it was close to the same amount as her, so she felt they should be able. For Tess, Max knew different, and that was the reason for her cheering on her celebration for getting across the road. “Yes, you got it!”
Max looked over her shoulder before waiting for Tess to die so as not to throw off her focus. “I’m going to grab a drink, then be back to help you some more. Do you want anything? Then we can see whether you want to try a different game and circle back to this or keep trying, okay?” She was thirst, but she was very fine with helping Tess some more, once she got a drink in her system.
