Of course Clark was a pain in the ass. What else would he be? Lois knew that about him, it's something she loved about him. Or so he said. She loved him, at least. That much was definite. But whether or not she loved his being a pain in the ass was debateable.
"I can, yes," he said, grinning at his wife. "I mean. I'm already going through the worst thing I could go through -- being seen in public with a beautiful woman such as you." He then leaned in and kissed her quickly. "I'll dance with you, Lois. You know I will, you don't even have to ask."
"I might be able to fight him off," he said. "I will fight off your husband. I want to be your husband instead."
