Marcel knew full well how not well Rebekah shared. She could become brutal if she felt a loss of power or a loss of Marcel's attention. Not that he blamed her. "I'm glad you agree."
If asked, Marcel could guess what her regret might be: the lack of cure. But, he wouldn't call it selfish. No, he hadn't expected this when he arrived in Madison, especially given Rebekah had been seeing someone else, but at least they had each other now.
"I'm glad you're both happy in your respective offices." He leaned in and kissed Bex, a promise for what she had to look forward to later. To her ear he whispered, "I love you Bex."
