Re: Alyssa | Damien
Alyssa knew when to give in, but that didn't mean she wouldn't voice what she thought, whether or not Damien acquiesced to her. She knew how vampires worked, or she wouldn't have agreed to only be with Damien. That domineering force drew in the Netherling after all.
She remembered belatedly how Damien felt about the truth. Again, a learning curve for her. She bit her lip for a second. "Sorry. I forgot your love of the truth. I'll tell you what they say about you." Which felt weird to her, but if it made Damien more comfortable, she could. "Or what else you want to know." As long as it wasn't disloyal to her sibs.
"You should get used to it. At least five of my insect friends have mentioned how hot you are. One commented on your gift to me. The plants are less thrilled, but that's because I woke them up from nap time when Kol attacked you." They didn't take kindly to it, but they'd get over it.
This place could overwhelm at the best of times and she knew that being with Alyssa hadn't made his life hear any easier. The fact they were here, together, certainly said a lot about their dedication to each other. Or stubbornness. She understood, very well, how important it was to have people from home who you knew would have your back. The Netherling didn't have Ivory or Morpheus, but at least she had the family she'd made here. Alyssa hoped for Damien that his brother showed up. Somehow, she knew, it would help settle the beau vampire a bit.
The Red Queen wouldn't mind Damien as an asshole, provided he didn't direct it at her. Unless she messed up and the Netherling didn't feel like complicating her life more by upsetting the vampire.
"Dancing sounds good. I'll point out some people who are friends of mine." Damien might as well at least have some awareness, but when he spun her, she cared far less about it.
