Alyssa | Damien
The amount of power Alyssa had was going to take Damien time to get used to. As it was, the vampire was probably going to need a little time to digest that fact that she could talk to insects, plants, and on occasion, a tree or two. Plus, she could animate and give life to inanimate objects. He'd never met anyone like Alyssa before. The potential for shifting control made Damien uncomfortable and he couldn't lie to himself about that. He was going to need time.
"I'd say the value of taste is entirely dependent on the person," Damien replied. "And I don't take to lecturing well regardless of who is doing it. My mother was the only one that had that right and she's been dead a long time." Damien and Bran outlived their parents. They'd practically outlived everyone they'd ever known throughout their existence. It was a rather depressing topic and one Damien didn't like to think about unless he had a healthy dose of alcohol and nicotine in his system. "But your powers are fascinating, Alyssa." If not fucking intimidating.
It was impossible for Damien not to notice the way her eyes danced when he mentioned how he'd liked to do bad things to her all the time. Naughty girl. Damien's blue eyes flashed briefly and he leaned in, capturing her lips in a short, but firm kiss.
"The luckiest," Damien murmured against her lips before pulling back. "If you weren't, I would have my hands up that dress again and I wouldn't be backing off for us to have a conversation about changing our agreement.
