Re: Alyssa | Damien
"If something is worth it, I can be patient." If Damien didn't think Alyssa was worth his patience, his time, he wouldn't have agreed to escort her to the event tonight. He wouldn't have sent her flowers. In fact, he would have severed the agreement right after his encounter with Kol. No, Alyssa was worth the effort or this moment never would have existed.
Given what he knew about Alyssa, he was curious to see if she would relinquish any other lovers in favor of himself. She knew them far better than himself and just because she cared for him, didn't mean she necessarily wanted to give up that freedom. She'd declared to her siblings that she was in charge of her own fate after all. Keeping those she was currently having sex with sounded as if it fell into that category.
But she didn't. It was rare that Damien was surprised, but when she said she wanted only him, Damien was surprised. Of course, he didn't show it, but the vampire was mildly shocked she'd sacrificed that freedom for him. Even if that type of freedom only extended to one person. Not that Damien was disappointed in the least.
The vampire poised his lips by her ear and murmured, "Very good choice, little fairy." Releasing her hand in favor of wrapping his slender fingers around her neck, Damien drew her in, bright blue irises flashing, before his captured her soft mouth in a brief, but passionate kiss. The taste of her on his tongue, Damien pulled back, but his hand remained possessively around her throat.
"95% is acceptable," Damien replied. "I can be stubborn, but I'm fair. I can't refuse you your vices when I have so many of my own." While Damien preferred his women sober, he wasn't going to refuse Alyssa her drugs. He had plenty of bad habits himself. It was a compromise he was willing to make.
Given her control over nature, Damien wasn't shocked when she said flowers talked to her. In fact, he might have been confused if they didn't given her control over the plants during his fight with Kol. He imagined a lot of her abilities were probably similar to those of the Fae in his world. However, Damien was not very familiar with the Fae; the gate to their world was sealed a while ago in Midnight.
Damien ran a thumb over her bottom lip and leaned in, nose brushing her own. "You needn't worry, Alyssa. Giving you anything, but roses would be insulting. They'd probably lecture me on how poor taste I had. Lucky for you, I am a vampire with class even if I want to do bad things to you all the time."
