If it involved anything outside of wearing a dress and potentially doing the waltz, Mary would have felt far more confident. Dressing up had never been something she liked nor considered herself good at. However, none of that subtracted from Alec's confidence in her. In fact, Mary appreciated it far more than he probably could imagine.
Plus his joking nature and smile were more than enough to put Mary at ease. "I appreciate the vote of confidence. Probably more than you know. I mean we both know I'm more at home at a firing range than in these heels," the blond replied.
She leaned up and pressed a kiss to his cheek. "But I am honored that you'd be willing to defend my honor against any of these women wielding wine glasses."
