Re: Alec/Mary
When Mary first started dating Alec, she wasn't entirely sure where it would lead...if anywhere. She knew that Alec wasn't a one-woman kind of a guy. Plus, he looked identical to Mary's son, Dean. There were a lot of things against the two of them ever succeeding past a few dates, if even that.
Yet, here they were, against all odds, at a New Year's Eve party, dressed to the nines, and still together. Mary knew it had taken a lot for Alec to get to a point where he was comfortable being in a committed relationship. To be fair, it had taken Mary time to be comfortable too. After losing John a second time, she wasn't sure if a relationship was ever going to be in her future here. Alec had opened her eyes to the fact that it could be. He'd shown her she could be happy being Mary Campbell as surly as she could be happy as a Winchester.
"Wow. I feel suddenly way underdressed," Mary commented as her blue eyes swept over the crowd. Mary had actually splurged on her dress, but some of the outfits here truly put hers to shame. Plus, they all carried themselves with an air of experience when it came to fashion and wealth. Power. Mary didn't come from a background that promoted any of those things so being here certainly made her feel like a fish out of water.
