Re: Alyssa | Damien
When it came to the expected, one should not count on the Netherling to act in a demure or timid manner. After all, she called the land of madness and chaos home. And she felt Damien's eyes on her as she spoke to Bex and Marcel as well as she fetched them their bourbon and glass.
Alyssa definitely sighed into the kiss when Damien pulled her close, relishing in the solidness of him against her, as her body reacted to the kiss. When they pulled apart and Damien responded, Alyssa took a sip of her bourbon, to buy herself a few seconds.
"They don't have to welcome you with open arms. I don't expect them to like you, just that I get free reign over my love life." After all, as far as Alyssa knew, not all of Allison's friends loved Kol, so it certainly didn't spell disaster for a relationship. "As long as they stop trying to make decisions for me." Alyssa bit her lip, thinking how to explain things.
"I learned decades ago, especially after being sent back home for a decade, that listening to others instead of trusting my instincts is the stupider part." Alyssa sighed and took a pace of the bourbon, the smokiness warning her insides. "For some reason, you seem worth fighting for." The Red Queen tossed back the rest of her glass and continued to speak as she poured a bit more bourbon for herself.
"It's..." Alyssa looked at her bourbon, eyes dissecting every hue in the glass. "Kol asked me why I liked you. I answered as honestly as possible. You remind me of home and parts of myself that took me a while to appreciate." And Morpheus, but she wisely knew not to mention her husband. "I've fought for what I wanted and believe I deserved most of my life."
Her blue eyes met his, ocean greeting ice. "Do you prefer to go look at art or whisk me off to the dance floor?" Either way, Alyssa wanted to spend time with her hot as fuck date and not discuss her family, at least not anymore tonight.
