Re: Alyssa | Damien
Unexpected. Damien watched Alyssa stalk over to where Marcel and Rebekah stood. From the looks on their faces, they were not expecting that. Thanks to his vampire hearing, Damien heard every word too. It took everything Damien had not to smirk as he listened to Marcel apologize. He had to give Alyssa credit for standing up to them. She could have chosen to ignore it or end it with him, save herself the stress, but she kept pushing. Kept trying. He admired her spirit. It was why he'd sent those flowers and that quote.
The vampire settled in at the table, keeping one eye on Alyssa as she found them a bottle of bourbon and two glasses and the other on everyone else in the room. It was every bit like those high end parties Damien had been to countless times. Hell, he'd thrown more than his share of them. The vampire owned his own club after all. Regardless of the different decorations, the glitz and glamour always remained the same.
Blue eyes shifted to Alyssa as the blond approached and set everything down on the table. Then promptly pulled him into an intense kiss. The gesture was surprising, but Damien quickly adapted, returning the kiss as his hands grabbed her hips, pressing her form scandalously close against his body. He savored the taste of her lips until she pulled away.
"And I chose to accept," Damien replied, watching as Alyssa poured them each a glass of bourbon. "And maybe they will come around, but I don't see them welcoming me in with open arms anytime soon. Not that I care. You're not truly living unless you have a few people that hate you." Damien took one of the glasses and took a sip.
"But you are risking an awful lot for a guy you just met. Some might say that is stupid. But, unfortunately for you, I'm not one of them. It shows something about a person when they keep fighting for something even when everyone else around them says not to."
