Oliver was beyond pleased when Mia had agreed to spend the day with him; it had been entirely too long since the two of them just talked. He had a lot to tell her, even if he wasn't sure how to even begin the conversation once they were together. He knew that she would more than likely have a hard time wrapping her mind around the idea of him being with any woman other than her mother. How could he explain to her that he still cared for Felicity, but that he had also accepted the fact that there was very little chance of her turning up here....at least that was the way that he felt. And aside from that Felicity more than likely moved on with her life after he was gone back home, and he didn't want to hold her to anything if she did show up here. So, complicated really was the right word for his current situation, but he also didn't want to lie to her. With all of that rushing through his mind he made his way inside the Coffee Shop and found a seat near the entrance, so that he could be sure to see her arrive. He knew that with the amount of people coming through the door would make it hard for him to spot her, but fortunately he was good at paying attention to the small details in a big crowd. So, he was sure that he could spot her, but for the moment he decided to order himself a Jasmine Tea while he waited. The last thing he needed at the moment was something overly high in caffeine, and he knew that. He was already on edge enough, and he didn't want to make it worse. His tea arrived promptly enough, so he began sipping on it as he watched the door. Fortunately he wasn't there long before he spotted his daughter walking through the door. He stood up from his seat and made his way to the other side of the table; he waited patiently for her to approach and then pulled out her chair for her. |
