For the second morning in a row Gibbs was on his way out to try another place that he thought might have coffee. He was still worried about his team, but with the new information he had received from the young lady he had talked to on the network he was hopeful that they would be okay until he returned. Ever since he had gotten that information he had been trying to not worry about them as much, even if it was hard to ignore just how much he missed Abby and Duckie. Of course he missed the others, but he had always been very close with Duckie and Abby. It had always been easier for them to get him to open up and he had a feeling that was something he would be needing in this new place. And then there was the fact that Abby was one of the few people that could make him smile these days, so not having her here had been hard for him already. At the moment he was relying mostly on his memories of the times he had spent with her. It was those memories rushing through his head when he made his way into the bakery only about an hour from the moment that he had woken up that morning. He took a look around the place, still deciding if this would become one of his new regular stops. Finally he made his way to the counter, ordering himself a pastry and a black coffee. With his food and beverage of choice he made his way over to the nearest table that met his needs. He ate his pastry and then pushed the plate away, but he kept his coffee close as he pulled out his notebook and pen. He was looking over the list that he had already made for himself when he heard the door to the bakery open once again, so he looked up from his work. When he spotted the woman that had walked in he couldn't help but wonder if she was one of the people that he had spoken to already. If she was he would like to say thank you, but he also didn't want to bother her. So, for the moment he went back to the list in front of him. In his mind she would approach him if she wanted to and then he would be friendly enough....or at the very least, he wouldn't be as gruff as he usually was. |
