Questions and Answers Who: Michelle Webster and Isobel Evans What: Random Encounter/Match-Up When: Saturday, November 5 (backdated to Truth Plot) Where: Jogging Path in the Park Warnings: None Yet Status: Incomplete
Michelle was not feeling it this morning. She did not want to be out running at 6 a.m. on this particular Saturday. She would much rather have been sleeping in, snuggled under the covers in a cold bedroom. But that's what discipline was all about. She needed to stay in shape, and that meant running regularly whether she liked it or not. It was A Rule. We don't get old, or sick, she could hear Amanda telling her for the hundredth time, but fat and slow can kill us just as surely. You have to be able to fight hard or run fast.
So here she was, dressed in sneakers, tank top, denim shorts and windbreaker. The shorts had belt loops for the sturdy leather belt that supported her IWB holster and handgun, the windbreaker concealed the gladius sheathed on her back. She didn't expect to need either one here in the park, but always going armed was also A Rule.
There was another woman nearby. Blonde, dressed to run, and in her late twenties, probably. Michelle smiled at her when she glanced Michelle's way. "Good morning," Michelle said. "What gets you out here at six in the morning when you'd rather stay in bed?"
